Keep your eyes open in little shopper papers you never know when you might get a chance to support a small business instead of Sams or Costco.



Found this today in a local shopper paper. This place is 14 miles from my house where as Sams club is 35 miles. Granted on 25 lb sugar i am paying 39 cents per pound at sams and at this store I would pay 51 cents/lb. Gas and time saved plus supporting a local business is worth it to me. I need to make a trip to their store to see what all they offer. I think its an Amish store, there are several families in the area.

I totally agree. I found a local place (Bread Beckers) that sells bulk what and dent corn. Wheat (hard white) is about $32 for 50 pounds and organic yellow dent corn a little higher. The prices can be a little higher than bulk purchases on the web but it's well worth supporting a local business. They cater more to yuppie restaurants that have electric grinders, etc., but I'll take what I can get.
