  • world's falling apart, and you THINK you are going to have it good, right?

townies outnumber rural folks by 30 to 1 did you know that? no place in the lower 48 states can't be reached in 24 hours on a motorcycle, and as much more time on foot, by MILLIONS of people. So, no, you AINT gonna be nearly as "remote" as you think that you are. :-) even if you DO get there. like the guys who "think" that a public storage place is some place you WANT a cache of shtf goodies. :-) Man, that's FUNNY. The only place more likely to get you killed, if shtf, is wally's.

if shtf, EVERYBODY is going to have the most horrific rest of their lives imaginable. Movie, BOOK OF ELI will be NICE by comparison. Most will suicide, it will be so hellish.

If you stayed and read/listened for more than a minute I think you might see the right answers you are looking for. You have come in here and insulted everyone, sharpshooting everything in sight, spoken where you have no experience and had a good laugh.
These folks are real with real plans, real goals, real issues and real experience and while I don't always agree and vise versa they are fairly respectful and most willing to talk offline on a subject so we can see each others point of view.

I try to stay out of things like this but I have to agree with Matt. If you spend some time on this board you'll see that the folks are constructive and try to help each other out without demeaning each other. We all know that in any shtf scenario life will suck at best. What most of us try to do is prepare to at least TRY to survive the suckage and minimalize it where we can without building a Cheyenne Mountain and crawling in and hiding. We try to lead good lives while we can.

Most of us realize, even though we seldom say it, that there will be casualties. Even the best prepared and trained here may not make it and some of the newbies may luck out...that's life. The alternative is to give up and be a sheeple.

Let's encourage each other to improve where we can and pray to God that all this preparation is not necessary.

This be the God's honest truth. Anyone who preps and gives serious thought to the aftermath of the SHTF knows that regardless of how well you prep, Murphy always seems to be around at the worst possible moment. or as some put it, Stuff happens, and sometimes it happens to you.

Yep. My wife and I were stacking some things in a new spot( I thought was rural but evidently not) and we were saying 'I hope and pray we'll never have to use this'. It doesn't matter whether I want to use it or not, I have a Christian duty to provide for my wife and children. That's what drives me.

Even if you aren't a Christian it is still your duty. I myself am right there with you XD.

                  Yeah....what he said!
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.

No, I will have it BAD. BUT I will keep trying to live anyway. I will keep trying to be civilized anyway. I don't lay down and die, I don't lay down and throw a tantrum, I don't lay down period. I may live, I may die, but I'm going to give it the best go I can, and that means prepping, networking, planning, and practicing. Then IF life gets really ugly, I adapt and keep going. Anybody want to quit, that's yer option, just leave all your stuff over on that salvage pile for me and the others who intend to keep trying. Because sometimes, the race goes neither to the swift, nor the strong, but to the one who is too dang stubborn to quit.

                      OOH RAH Kappy.

I've been through some very hard times in my life and have had people tell me they couldn't have continued on if it were them. I always reply with "I had no option not to". You play the hand you're dealt. I know its corny but when life hands you lemons you make lemonade and its true you gotta keep pluggin away.
