    +1 for solarblvd.

I have a mix of 80 & 90watt panels from solarblvd for a total of a 520watt system which has been running for close to two years now. 30amp controller & three 125AH batteries. Directly run some 12VDC fans & lights off the batteries. A 5cuft chest freezer is run threw an inverter, 2,000watt inverter if I recall correctly.

WOW ! Thanksn for the posts. I'm looking at building a system to power my shed, which acts as my shop. I don't need a great deal of power, so I figure a stand-alone solar system would be just the ticket.
I think that I should be able to put together a sysytem with what I found out here for less than $300, and should be able to do it within a few months of starting my purchases (can only afford so much each month).
