  • Farmshow magazine -- A MUST SEE

Anyone ever seen this? I came across one at the barbershop and was pretty impressed with all the ideas, money making ideas on the farm as well as ideas for making useful items. Their website has a bunch of videos too. You can request a free issue here: http://www.farmshow.com/subscription_free.php

http://www.farmshow.com/videolist.php 90 videos on their website of all kinds of stuff -- FREE. Chicken coops to barrel fly traps to turbo charged tractors and so much more.

The magazine has a section on Best and Worst Buys. Some articles had contact info listed so that you could learn more.

They also have 2 Encyclopedias of "made It Myself ideas" and "great shop ideas" and "Money Making Ideas to Boost Farm Income" and "How To Repower Anything". http://www.farmshow.com/books.php

Tons of info from this place and after seeing an issue I will be getting some of this info for the bookshelf.

I got my free issue within a few days of requesting it...definitely worth the time to fill out the request form and decide for yourself.

**Note I have no fiduciary gain if you buy anything from this magazine**

My step dad gave me the "Best of 2012 Issue" with the top 250 items from the previous 6 issues this year and it has tons of good stuff. I saw an interesting way to protect chickens from air predators (hawks/owls etc) using a center pole, wire, and nylon string. Tons of ideas and products out there.

I've been a long-time subscriber to Farm Show, so here is another recommendation.

A few highlights from the current edition (Vol. 37, No. 1, 2013):

                  • Permanent stock tanks made from culvert pipe
                  • A 6-wheel amphibious ATV made from a zero-turn radius mower
                  • Chicken mash made with wind power
                  • Air-powered water pump from Australia - simple and reliable
                  • Using a cordless drill to unload feed from a bulk container
                  • Using a simple barrel stove to heat a house
                  • Converting an old AC Condenser into a powerful air compressor
                  • Solar heater made with scrap parts
                  • Live trap designed to catch burrowing critters
                  • Home built machine to convert old LP tanks into burn barrels, fire rings, boilers, etc.

I save all of my copies of Farm Show for future reference. It's also a great source of ideas for starting your own small business - or at least make some additional income.
