    Generator Quiet Wall
I made a makeshift wall to dampen the noise of the generator from other deer hunter camps.
This is something to consider when/if using one during an emergency. We sandbagged ours in the military but I don

Thanks, Sharpshooter and I also position the trucks to block the open sides when we come back into camp from hunting. Where we go is public but most are good folks and the same ones that come back year after year so we get to know each other. I know they are noisy but i'm not really roughing it and we all need to get along. At 100yds it is almost silent when you do this with just a low hum. Hondas seem to be the quietest to me and I think it is important to practice so when emergencies do happen you dont draw anymore unwanted attention than possible.

What kind of Honda Matt? How has it worked out?

I'm thinking of eventually adding a portable gas generator for a mobile power source and for work.
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I dont have one but my BIL and some guys in camp had one and they were different models but they were very quiet compared to mine. They said that Honda is known for that.

To add a bit, I think that the addition of a small inverter hooked up to any batteries is a smart idea. That way if you just need 110 power for a short period & for something that doesn't draw a lot of amps you can use the inverter. This way you don't have to run the generator for every little thing.
Survival question. What do I need most, right now?

Yup I do that too! I even have a deep cycle marine battery and invertor that stays in the storm shelter and is solar charged for just such emergencies. I carry an invertor in the camper and use it during the day for the water pump and phone charging etc.

The wall is a great idea Matt.

I have a Honda IU2000 that is super quiet but by putting something around it like that would make the noise signature nonexistent.

Besides being quiet the Honda sips fuel.
