  • Bee Keeping

I know it is waaaaaaaaaaaayyy early to be thinking about the subject. But I've talked myself into buying 1 or 2 hives and trying my hand at it this spring. Honey would be a useful barter item, as well as the health benefits. Anyway I'm a real NewBee at the subject, been reading books, and looking at youtub videos. I was wondering if anybody on the forums has any experience, and would like to lend my some tips.

    Thanks

I have bees. There are some things about beekeeping that will depend on your location. You would do well to join a local beekeeping club. Bees are pretty easy to keep once you get them established. You really aren't early to start thinking about bees for next year. you will need to get your equipment set up before your bees arrige in the spring. If you are going to order bees, do it soon. The companies that sell bees usually sell out quickly.
We used to live in your area. We were stationed at Hill AFB for four years.

Utah is beautiful! I really enjoyed riding my horse thru the snow. Plus, you can be a prepper without anyone taking notice.
