Since we have gotten some pretty decent amounts of rain (no pond fillers), I called the family we normally buy our hay from. No answer, so I left a message asking if they might get a second cutting and if they would have any available to sell. She called me back and told me they had 100 bales they could part with (Thank you Lord!). Since hay is so expensive, I had to ask how much they wanted for it, so I could determine how much we could afford. She said they would sell it to us at the price we paid in the spring (which was the cheapest I had heard of) on one condition, we wouldn't tell anyone how much we paid. I asked if they were sure they wanted to do that, and they confirmed it. WOW!!!!! We wanted all 100 bales! Yay!
We buy it behind the baler, so we went out to pick it up. It took three loads with our little trailer. lol Anyway, this was really good hay. We paid them an extra 50 cents a bale and told them how much we appreciated them, and we knew they could get more for it. Plus, how nice it was to be able to get it so close to home.
He had 108 bales in that section and told us to just take them all - he bales them lighter for us, so I don't hurt my back handling them. So, we have hay for winter! I feel so much more secure! I can tell you how much this has worried me!
God is good, and so are his people. I am so very thankful!
