If I may play 'devils' advocate"....most folks escaping from prisons want to get as far from them as possible! First they steal a car ASAP (there are probably more desirable targets nearer than you) then they LEAVE as quickly as possible. I doublt that any groups would hang around to maraud anyone keeping a low profile in a hardened home. Criminals are generally low-ambition, and want the easy victim, scam or job above all.
