I'm heading there if I can ever get out of Germany. I've studied up and posted on other forums, but was wondering if anyone around here had any advice for the OKC area.

    Thanks in advance

Pulled 2 tours there myself. I would avoid OKC proper unless it is needed. There are alot of good communities around. Contact me offline for better details so I don't bore everyone.

i retired from the okc police department in 97 and was back there last year for a week in okc while my mother was in the hospital there, i was shocked at how much it had gone done hill apparently the gangs are much more of a problem there now than they were in 97, okc is a good place to stay out of

Certain areas of OKC are best avoided, specifically anywhere around Martin Luther King Blvd, for obvious reasons. There are some other areas to avoid also, such as some of the areas along NE 23rd from about I-35 to Kelly, very heavy Hispanic populations, hence, gangland. There are also areas where there are mainly Viets, and Muslim populations etc, etc.. It's not really any different than any other city in the country at this time - I would take it over the likes of LA, or NYC any day. However, I personally don't care much for any city, that's why I live a two hour drive away from OKC, and only go there when I need to.
