hardwire sesmic unit

i cant remember the name now but JRH gave a talk on it at the I.C. and i later bought some probes from JRH for it .
i takes like 8 d-cell batteries . i tested it and it worked i pulled the batteries out of it and put it up
and now it doesnt work .. is there anyone who can take a look at it and give me a estimate on a repair at a resonable price , i have a manual that has a secmatic in the back of it .

i think it was suppose to use ta-1 phone wire .
