The technique beyond metal roofing

I need to know the reason why the metal roofing is so popular at this stage? somebody may have the experience to understand the history.... spread the information to the learners!...

Eliminates maintainence, avoids hail damages and resultant water leaks, and importantly if one lives in a heavily treed area, avoids the danger of fire from surrounding forest/grass fires. Those were my reasons for a new steel roof 4 years ago.

To add to goatlady it also fairs better in ice storms because there are no shingles to push up and high straight winds can't get hold of it and tear it up near as bad which is an issue out here too.

We would have one now except for the CODE police in our town. No wood and no metal roofing in our town unless you are grandfathered in.

When we move to place out of town I am going with metal at that time. I am looking at Mueller Steel roof right now.

Even though the advantages of a metal roof are well known? More efficient, safer, durable, etc?

To me, sounds like a town council should be replaced in the next election. Anyone who infringes on the ability for property owners to do with as they please should be un-elected and run out on a rail. Kind of like all home owners associations should be disbanded.

Sorry for the tangent, but my parents are going through a somewhat similar situation with my hometown. Seems like they want to make a town of 7K into one big happy homeowners association. Problem is, the most vocal opponents are already planning on new jobs come next November. Some things you just don't do in Small Town Tennessee and get away with.

Anyway, back at the OP. The advantages of a metal roof are well known. Just do a Google search and you get hundreds of hits.
