"Alone in the Wilderness" is a dvd that I originally saw on a PBS pledge drive. I got the dvd and watch it every now and then (just the other night). Its about Richard Proenneke; a fifty year old man who in 1968 retired to Twin Lakes, Alaska and built a small cabin (by himself) where he lived into his 80's (until he couldn't stand the winters any longer). Absolutely heart warming, first class. If you've ever yearned to build your own place in the woods, then this might just send you over the wall. It will definitely give you something to think (dream) about. I simply got it off the internet a couple of years ago. Came with a book too "One Man's Wilderness". I'm not kidding, it's an outstanding film. Check the library maybe.

Here is a link on YouTube. Not the whole DVD, but a little to get you thinking. I think there are 3 parts you can find on YouTube
Protecting the sheep from the wolves that want them, their family, their money and full control of our Country!
Guns and gear are cool, but bandages stop the bleeding!
ATTENTION: No trees or animals were harmed in any way in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were really ticked off!

Dont see anything listed called Alone in the Wilderness for upcoming shows (on direct tv); or One Mans Wilderness. Let me know what the correct name is and I'll record it for my own posterity (while Im on my own posterior)!"Well, you know what they say: 'Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.
