water system is down

we decided to plant some fruit trees to put around the house we bought this year.

while digging holes, i hit and ruptured water line twice!!!
big holes. i had no idea there was water line in that area.

it'll be o.k. getting stuff to fix it from lowe's

the jolt was... i had no pipe or connectors of that size at the house.
if lowe's wasn't open or i had no gas to get there or ??
it would have been a lot worse.

And it's now probably a 30 minute trip to the store.

The 10 packs of connectors and fittings are nice. Start a "plumbing" box- or three in a tote.

The stuff you don't know will surprise you. Found out a while back that my whole house was in CPVC not just the hot water. Glad I found that out ahead of time as I had oodles of PVC fittings but hardly any CPVC fittings.

Logistic trains.... I talked about that on one of the podcasts. Their is always something else somewhere down the line that you need backups for.

The good thing is- your figuring this stuff out NOW, while a trip to Lowes is possible.

I "pity da foo" who thinks they are going to show up at their absentee owner style retreat on Day 1 of the PAW and have everything work out well for them.

The experience you are gaining now and will continue to gain is invaluable.
