    My buddy with a 7 acre farm has recommended this stuff to me. I will be buying some for the 2012 season. He said not only does it repel the bugs, but the harmless coating also acts as a shading sun tan lotion.

    Anyone out there in S&P land ever use this stuff??

    Have to do some hard thinking on this one. I can control/kill most every bug/worm here except those stink bugs and the info "says" this will deter them. Just don't know if I want all my veggies coated white with clay, yet.

      Yeah, he told me he was getting it for $35 per bag. And the clay/white stuff comes right off...and no difference to the taste. It saved his farm this year being that he does markets for a living. I am going to do this next year because bugs have tore me alive this year

        I just may have to really consider this stuff just for the stink bugs - they decimate my maters, squash, and cukes.

          The only way I was able to control the stink bugs was to shoot them... I use dish soap mixed with water in a hand sprayer.. Then go a huntin bugs. They breath through the skin. So this will suffacate them. Hit them good and coat them good. They will be dead before they hit the ground. That has been the only way so far.

            Here is a good pest repellant that I have been experimenting with as of late.

            Contains the following.
            1. 2 bars of liquified(water) ivory soap
            2. Juice of 1 head of garlic
            3. Juice 2 cup of Thai chilli pepper
            4. Juice of 2 cups habenero pepper.

            You can use an old blender or old juicer to extract the liquid out these products. Strain or filter the juice into the sprayer can to remove solids, add liquified ivory soap into sprayer too. Just make sure not solid pieces enter the sprayer. The spicy peppers have the capsaicin chemical in them, and the habenero and thai peppers have super high concentrations of them. Also very green and fairly cheap. You can find these peppers in most stores with a decent selection of international foods. I grow these every year though. Capsaicin is the same stuff that pepper spray is made from.

            Since the Stink bug is of SE Asian origins and has no natural predators in the U.S, maybe the Thai Chili from the same environment(perhaps a natural resistance) will drive them away? Just a thought.

                    LOL, no doubt it can be used a defense spray too! Yes, you want to use some gloves and googles for this.

                    But at least there are no toxins that will pollute the water supply or soil, no heavy metals and such..

                    Also, it can be used to spice up the chili too. Can make the face red==:mad:
