  • What do you have on autopilot?

what systems do you have on "autopilot"?
example: auto watering system for the bunnies. or auto feeder for the chickens.
What systems have you put in place to help you on a daily basis?

Wheat patch- hard red wheat I put in first part of October of 10.
          Sun
          water
Sometime around June I'll go get it out.

other than, that my automation system involves a 14, 12, and a 6 yr old that needs to stay busy

Same here. In fact, the wife takes care of all the animals, including me. And all food production. The homestead is her full time job, I work to pay the bills and on the weekends do the never-ending construction/mending/repair/replace projects.
The only thing we have on auto pilot is lawn mowing & fertilizing. The horses take care of that simultaneously.:D

                        Autopilot

Put the grow lights on a timer.
First time this year trying grow light seed starting.
Using a few of those cheap plastic seed starting mini "greenhouses" and really like that the flat is sitting on a cloth wicking material above a water reservoir. As long as the reservoir does not run dry, it will self water.
