  • huge electric bill!! how come??

me? i live in a high rise condo! here's a story about an associate!

fellow had a $600+ electric bill. he wonders -- "how in the heck could that be?"
fellow has some fruit producing trees and a patch of new pecan trees.
no rain for the last month. so the well had been run a Lot!
    --
they have two dehydrators and were keeping them busy filling little plastic bags with dehydrated fruit and veggies.
and it had been real hot weatherwise... so hvac was running non stop trying to offset the effects of hot air from the dehydrators.

bottom line comment. fellow has no solar or wind generation. this process is not replaceable in a grid down scenario.
yes. he has electric generation using fossil fuels. but..
what to do? fellow likes hvac. fellow likes eating dehydrated peaches/pears/tomatoes/etc..

Tariffs on solar panels made in China are going into effect on the 26th?? Might want to look at some options.

Word around the campfire is that the tariffs will increase price by about 50%

Just ordered another pallet of panels.

Dunno if it's true or not but "I heard".....
China has ramped up their solar cell production to the point that every week, they produce enough to equal a 5Megawatt power plant.

Signature Solar has some good pallet prices, they also sell individual panels.

A far cry from the $6.25 a watt prices we paid back in the 90's! Paid $.21 a watt for this last pallet plus shipping which wasn't bad. Panels come on this very odd sized pallet- the driver could barely manipulate the pallet with a standard pallet jack. We had to break the pallet down to get it out of there.

Wow, those are some great deals. I don't remember the $6.25 per watt but do remember the $4 per watt prices....
