During my down-time this winter, in between repairs, sickness in the family, etc., I found a new process for growing plants in the winter, Kratky Hydroponics. This system uses no pumps, just a tank, which can be a plastic storage container, bucket; I used Dr. Pepper bottles, clean water (no chlorine or chloramine), nutrients, and grow lights. I already had a mini greenhouse for spring seed starting. This was needed as my workshop is about 45 degrees during the cold weather and I am too cheap to heat it. We have had fresh lettuce all winter for very little work. I'm starting strawberries next. If anyone is interested, I'll post my project in the Articles section.
