  • Been busy.

I haven't been posting much as you can all see. I've been pretty busy around the homestead. There are always chores to be done no matter what day, month, or season it is.

Some of the things that I have accomplished though are.......

Tended the garden this past spring and summer.

Put up a pool that the wife bought for cooling off in the summer heat ( and to be used as an emergency water source if TSHTF ).

Added onto the garden shed, with a semi-open, lean-to shed on the back for storing the lawn mowers, wheelbarrows, spreaders, and other lawn and garden tools to free up space in the main shed for a lot of storage items that are not effected by the summer heat and the winter cold.

    Painted the shed.

Repaired and re-painted a picnic table that was give to me by a friend that I cut grass for ( the only thing wrong with it, was one of the boards that makes up the top, had started to rot out ). They had it in the back yard of a property that they owned, and were selling the place, so they asked me if I wanted it, and if so, I had to haul it off.

Patched and re-sealed the driveway. I also added a set of patio pavers to the sides of the drive where the wife and I both park, so that when we, and any passengers get out, we don't have to worry about getting muddy feet when it is raining, and the yard gets soaked to capacity.

Raked up all the fallen leaves around the house.

Added to the compost piles for our Spring garden ( even though it was late in the year when I did this, the material that I added was partially composted as it was ).

There were also a good number of smaller jobs and chores that I did, and it sure didn't leave a lot of free time. I'm not complaining now mind you, because I got a lot of preparedness work done, besides all the regular chores and jobs that keep food on the table, the lights on, and a roof over our heads.

Now that winterime has set in, I'll have a lot more free time to read and post when I'm not making plans for this coming year. ;)
