Do we have any threads on possible land/house/retreat's for sale , it would be nice to be able to look at possible sites for sale ? I have been using Landwatch.com and was about to pull the trigger when everything went sideways and seller wanted to mod some items on sale , so back on the web looking again . I have looked through the site and haven't found any , but figure maybe we had a thread I couldn't find .Thanks for any other sites that might be helpful if we don't .

you might check the Bureau of Land Management, they might have some land for sale. I would probably just google if it were me, guess it really depends on where you are looking. I would try searching the MLS directory for land."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

I am pretty sure I was looking through MLS listings when I was looking for our current home, try going to one of the national Real Estate Companies websites, they should be plugged into the MLS listing. In my county shopper there is a website for local farm property/hunting property that has a website. I say that because once you find an area/state that you want to target google to see if there is a County Shopper online paper, this might have some stuff that may not even be listed with MLS. Granted not every county will have one let alone an online version but you might get a number to get one mailed to you."It's a trap!!!!" -- Admiral Ackbar

My wife was addicted to the site below before we bought our place (same site she found it on). Check it ALL the time. We got our place 3 days after it was on here. It hadn't even made it into the newspaper or the realtor's site, not sure how that works.... but it does.

Realtor.com will give you the majority of all mls listings. Not sure how often it is updated but it is more than once a day. However; not all real estate agents are Realtors, and therefore not all properties will be listed on there. Obviously the for sale by owners properties won't be on there as well.
Landandfarm.com is a good website that we advertise in when we want more exposure than just the mls listings.
homesandland.com has worked very well for us in the past. If you can narrow your search down to a specific region of a specific state then you can receive a free mailing of their magazine for that area. However; the lead times for the listings to be published is at least a month out, so the properties may not be recent.
Good luck on your quest :DWelcome to Tennessee, patriot state of shootin' stuff.

You folks miss the point. You already own lots of real estate. Consider what fedgovcoinc has extorted from you over your lifetime. It does NOT belong to the current aristocracy on the potomac. It is YOURS!!! A stay in the national forest or national parks is not "squatting" You own it! Those morons in the district of criminals are our SERVANTS!!!!

ithink the problem there biathlon is the number of "other" people who also plan to flee to the national parks when shtf... without a preconstructed site, you are pretty much playing boy scout out there hoping someone doesnt stumble across your camp when you are away gathering food/wood, and they dont sneak up on your female family members to boot...
IMHO... bad bad mojo...
Just saw a youtube video where a family produces 6000 pounds of produce annually on an acre of land, pretty interested, but they did not say how much in chemicals they have to dump into the soil to produce such a large amount every year over and over....

I am currently in South Florida, which in my opinion is not a great place to be when the SHTF. I have several retreat locations outside of FL and am looking for more property.
Here is what I have discovered:
I have used most of the websites listed in this post including www.realtor.com www.landandfarm.com and others. I have also tried googling using the parameters of what I was looking for. The results were less than satisfactory.
The only way I am able to get results is researching a location and then going there and talking with locals and small real estate companies. It seems that a lot of vacant land in remote areas is not always listed - and if it is listed it is priced too high. A lot of real estate can also be found by tracing the owners and making an offer even if the land is not for sale.
In some areas it is almost impossible to find larger tracks of land that would make a good retreat. The best places are obviously in the northwestern part of the US.
My strategy is to have multiple locations around the country to bug out to and maybe a primary retreat.
Also keep in mind that if your security is threatened by a strong international military force, you will have no choice but to retreat and reform in a new location. No retreat can remain defensible against a strong international military force. Have a backup plan and other areas to move to.
God bless and stay strong.EXPECT THE BEST - PREPARE FOR THE WORSE
KEEP ON PREPPING

I have been looking on Motherearth.com u can pick the state, and even the county you are looking for land,im leaning more toward southern or southeast missouri. there seems to be plenty of UNrestricted land there for the time being. i think if u already own the land, then dn the road if some restrictions are imposed, then u would be "grandfathered" in im almost sure.Heck in most areas dn there u are allowed outhouse, and even lagoons!!! and property taxes are unheard of low..im personally going for a place that already has well/spring in place it might cost a few thousand to drill well, ive been told drilling for water in the Ozarks is like rolling the dice in vegas!! what about it folks in mo ozarks??I HAD RATHER HAVE 12 HONEST PEOPLE JUDGING ME,AS TO HAVE 6 CARRYING ME...
