My good friend that has a modest size farm has been watching CSPAN around the clock. This affects his livelyhood. I hate it for the small organic farmers like him.....and you know the kicker in this down in GA, Georgia Organics supports the bill 100%...INSANE

I wonder if our President will sign this act... oh wait... he doesn't have to.

This bill is going to the house to be checked over... ya, were in for an interesting future.

Just heard that some fees were added to the bill which makes it a tax bill which has to originate in the house. Back to the house. Maybe it'll die there.

holy hell! i called Senator Hutchinson office and they said that she opposed the bill but that it passed the senate with like a 75-23 vote! i also emailed the two senators from Gerogia asking that they change their stance. i know to late, but maybe i can put in my two cents in for the house

They all seem to be under the impression it will stop all the ecoli and other stuff from happening. Most don't seem to actually know whats in the bill. Seems as though the "you have to pass it so we can tell you whats in it" is still in effect.

hey guys i called ted poe (my rep here in texas) at his washington dc office and asked his postion. he voted against it thank god. i also asked if there was any buzz on if this was likely to pass the house. the lady on the phone said she hasnt heard anything, but she knew exactly what i was talking about. the rep i spoke with at Senator Hutchison office made the comment " i dont know how they are going to police 250 million people for growing food" true but its just the principle of the thing. holy hell we are in for a bad haul

The Senate is DEM and leftist... Many people this would affect are lefty growers and farmers. I think (hope) it will die in the House, but it will help us clean the DEMS out of the Senate in 2012... Bastards!

You know its funny that big bro can allow a company like McDonalds to go out of country to places like Venezuela to buy their meat cheaper and they are not regulated by the FDA and we can also allow companies to bring in Seafood knowing full well their processes for raising that seafood does not comply with FDA guidelines and theres absolutely know way they can make enough spot inspections to stop them ---Oh but we can stop ole average Joe the farmer from growing organic food out in the back yard. Yeah we will bring out the National Guard by God we will stop him from getting that last mator to the table even if we have to take him down !!!!!!!!

                        Truly amazing isn't it

I don't see how they will justify intrastate commerce regulation here? Other than that, if I've read Genesis correctly God Himself gave us all the seeds of the earth and the flowering and green to eat. So, we've had the "War on alcohol", the "War on poverty", the "War on drugs", the "War on terrorism" and now we have the "War on food"!

Well they might not have to "police" growing your own food. The big seed companies are genetically modifying crops so that they are sterile, meaning that they don't reproduce and you'll have to buy seed from them every year. Everyone thinks they'll just lay in a stock of heirloom seeds but from what I've read people are worried these genetically modified crops will pollinate your heirloom seeds rendering them sterile too. Scary stuff.

Luckily for us the government hasn't won any of those wars and won't win this one either. Make it illegal and make me a criminal.
It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
