Avatars

How do we set an avatar? When I go under "edit avatar" on my settings page, it doesnt give any options for choosing/uploading one.... :confused:

when i did mine it was on day 1-2 of the site being up. My other account used for testing such issues, doesnt give me the option to upload an avatar. It should look just like the "add profile" picture tab. However like hawks, my test account doesnt give that choice. Why? i can not say.
There is not much on the admin section on custom av's, that i can see, unless admin1 etc has different permissions on the admin panel than i do ( i hope so imho) I do not think it is a "post" count issue either, as that permission is listed as "zero" post needed to use an avatar.
right now my test account is showing no such "add avatar" in the profile settings page. Maybe admin is working on it as i type.

One other thing to bring up, if I may.... When I click on the "Home" tab in the top left, or go try to go to http://www.survivalandpreparednessforum.com , it takes me to a page where I get the message :

Hawkeye, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Avatars are enabled in the admin section, double checked that just now.

I'm not sure honestly what the "home" thing is all about. I'll work on that next.

I'll work on it. It may only be enabled for moderators/admins. Or just "special" people like Protus ;)
