living in a high rise condo, i'm safe and secure and just happy that the gov't is gonna take care of me.
no problems for me and mine...

howsomeever... an associate has a huge number of trees down... many are biguns..
associate is shopping for a "grapple" that would be used on his fel. .. (in place of the bucket)
associate is also shopping for mfwd tractor. his compacts are doing the job. but concern for the stresses the front wheels/tires are taking.

anybody have one? what brand? comments? suggestions? single or dual pumps?

folks are getting over the hump... not enough contractors/repairmen to do the work... so many houses have blue tarps on the roofs... many still have trees on house and/or shed...

michael has caused folks to rethink their preparedness... pharmacist friend was bragging the day before storm hit... "we are prepared... we have food cooked and extra water.. we will be fine... "
nope.. they weren't... 2 senior relatives showed up right before storm... their electric was off for over a week. no water. no electric... a couple of 5 gal cans of gasoline... all of their vehicles were of the heavy duty. 14mpg variety.. no generator...

how much gasoline do you have on hand?
or how much diesel ? if that is your truck/cars fuel?

what all runs on gasoline at your house..?

what if... you need to make a trip to your capital city and back to rescue your prime relative?
example: let's just say it is 250 miles one way. and there will be some backtracking because some roads will be blocked... so 300 miles one way. x 2= 600 miles and you start with half a tank.
24 gallon/2 = 12 gallons.... you will need 600 /14mpg = 42 gallons (remember the hd truck above?_
this means you will need to carry 30 gallons 42 - 12 = 30 gallons. you use 2.5 5 gallon containers to your tank.... you need to put four 5 gallon containers in the bed of the truck.

folks it's time for my friend to consider a fuel tank at the house... maybe 250 or preferably 500 or even bigger...

an associate had many trees blocking his driveway...
he had 2 chain saws and extra blades... and he had bought some high priced premix and had been refilling the quart cans using 92oct no ethanol gas treated with pri-g and brand name oil. this way he Knew how much pre mix he had on hand at any given time... (just count the cans) he would empty a can in one day... !

so, if you read this post, you just got challenged to up the amount of gas you keep stored and the type!
