    A few years back, my son bought some property in North FL. The original thought was to use it as hunting land, which we still do. He and his wife wanted to live there as well, and what he came up with is interesting.
    Tiny house with large covered porch. Large pole barn. New well. 20 KW solar power with all the batteries, controllers and such. Solar hot water heater. Composting toilet. Out door kitchen to supplement the small kitchen in the tiny house.
    No street address. No power poles going in. Locked gate. Dogs help with security. Alarms and sensors also.
    They live in peace and quiet. No utility bills.

    Don't get caught! I think Florida has some "law" requiring people to be grid tied.

      I'd heard that elsewhere, if it's so, it's one of the dumbest kalifornia things that FL has ever done,,,,, and they've done some pretty stupid things over the years
