while typing another post, i mentioned some singing...
    and remembered a recent event...

very recently we were at a gathering of campers... many hundreds of folks, which lasted for several days.
there were many subgroups... folks based on military backgrounds, georgraphical backgrounds, age, activity, etc...
all were getting along just fine...

each night there would be a special group leading the singing and entertainment.

this event happened in the southern half of the u.s.a with attendees from many states... near and far.
each group sang some church songs, some patriotic songs, some "oldies" some they wrote, and all kinds.

one night, the group sang a song that brought the crowd to their feet that had to do with being from south of the mason/dixon. a song well known to all there.
a song that had to do with the roots of most of the folks there. it was a trilogy of elvis well known songs.

one small group of about 25 got up and quietly marched out. i was surprised that they left as a group.. as individual couples were entering and leaving all evening.
after the group left, i was slow to understand why... when i asked the folks seated near me, they looked at me like i was a d.a.

rr, " they left because they didnt' like that song(s) we just sang and honored."

    dagnabbit,
i'm about tired of their disrespect... and eagerness to show it...
the good news is ... they did so quietly...
they had been treated very nicely and even given more honor and attention than any other group, when you factor in the small number in their group, compared to the total attendance.

Elvis is not my bag baby ...but..if I was to guess...

Oh I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old things they are not forgotten
Look away, look away, look away Dixieland
Oh I wish I was in Dixie, away, away
In Dixieland I take my stand to live and die in Dixie
Cause Dixieland, that's where I was born
      Early Lord one frosty morning
Look away, look away, look away Dixieland
      Glory, glory hallelujah
      Glory, glory hallelujah
      Glory, glory hallelujah
      His truth is marching on
      So hush little baby
      Don't you cry
You know your daddy's bound to die
But all my trials, Lord will soon be over

Now....I'm having white jump suit nightmares lmao.

        People walked out over Dixie?

That's funny, we sang "Dixie" in elementary school UP NORTH as a kid!

Outside of that, I don't think I ever heard it in school or any place else after we moved South.

Certainly the 3 fat black woman teachers and administrators in middle school that MADE US all watch video of white cops in Alabama in the 60's spraying blacks with firehoses and similar stuff that yelled at us - "YOUR PARENTS DID THIS!" in PUBLIC SCHOOL (30+ years ago now), would not have approved.

They were trying to shame a boatload of white kids that had the bad luck to be "bused" all the way across the county, past two or three other schools to a skewl literally right next to the hood.

The lights were low in the room and we were made to watch this video showing loops of evidently some riot in Alabama in the 60's where the cops did not play. One of the black teachers (I think she was my home room teacher) literally screamed at us- 'YOUR PARENTS DID THIS!!!'

I turned my head to the side and just let out of "hmmmmmmmph." She jumped on me "You got sumtin to say Mr. Henry?"

I just said "MY parents were in Illinois, we didn't do this crap." Checkmate fool, not a damn word said back.

I swear that was the day I was destined to repeat that grade. Guess who's three classes I failed that year? True story.

My constant use of phrases like "publix edumacation system" doesn't come from nowhere...... And this was 1987'ish, long before the praise "Barrack Hussein Obama" song, "trans", and the like. In a city in North Florida that at the time WAS fairly southern and country rooted. These mostly redneck country kids went home to their Southern pride Moms and Dads who most of which probably never heard a thing about that, or were too busy to give a rip.

When we farm out the upbringing and education of our children to others, we really have NO CONTROL over what they learn.

I've watched a LOT of conservative friends kids come up in the publix indoctrination centers. By the time of high school, most are tainted with the socialist mindset that their parents ACT so inclined to resist! Many are/were baby boomers brought up in the system who literally believe their kids will miss out somehow if they are not part of the Borg.

All the Fox news playing in the background, once a month chats about politics, twice a year range trips, are NOTHING compared to the power of 180 days of indoctrination of young minds beginning perhaps at DAYCARE and extending up till they are 17-18 years old.

We are 22 days out from HS graduation at the college where our home school program comes from. It's not been easy, I could have shipped my wife off to work years ago and been slightly ahead financially but we chose not to. We could have shipped our child to the indoctrination camp because it was easier, but we chose not to. We made sacrifices all along the way. NO ONE was with us or supported us early on, not even family. We didn't give a rip. Every retarded Borg attendant (publix skewl teacher) we have run into has asked "why don't you put him in skewl, we got such great schools 'round here." Funny, cause when we worked with six graders, half of them COULDN'T READ on what I would consider a 4th grade level, with one kid literally asking how to pronounce the word "THE" (true story). Yet the keepers of the Borg swear to their almighty pension and union that we have "such great skewls 'round here." that has become a running joke in our family.

So I went to youtube and searched "Dixieland" with lyrics.

I didn't see anything derogatory against any certain race, nor was there any references to beating slaves, etc.

"Cotton" is probably the closest thing that someone overly sensitive could get riled about.

There was also an "Elivis" trilogy featuring it. I couldn't only stand about 45 seconds of Elvis voice and came close to pulling an "elvis" and shooting the monitor.... but did not hear anything in there that any snowflake should get upset about.

One thing to remember RR, and we have discussed this here many times, is that THE COUNTRY (AS IN AMERIKA) HAS CHANGED, a LOT. I'm not saying that's good, cause it's not, but you have to realize it isn't 1960 anymore. And "good neighborhoods" and being friendly to every Tom, **** and Harry you see out in public or assuming they are all on the same page as you is a recipe for disaster any more.

People say "But we love shopping at Target"- well did you realize they allow DUDES in the women's bathrooms? Yep, and they WILL NOT prosecute them. So your wife, little girl or granddaughter goes to the bathroom at Target and they may just see some dude's genitalia in the WOMEN'S RESTROOM -or worse. How many of us heard our pastor talk about that?? Told anyone about it?

What about those lovely little Girl Scouts, sweet little things right? Such a good organization, bastion of American values and morals right?. Oh they care about girls, except ONES STILL IN THE WOMB! Yep, they are a big time supporter of Murder Incorporated aka "planned parenthood." I wonder if PP gives out free boxes of Thin Mints when the old hag demon lady caught on video selling baby body parts makes a big sale??? Girl Scouts, hell no, shove those Thin Mints somewhere.

Boy Scouts? Now there is a virtuous American foundation eh? Oh that's right, they were one of the first to accept gay scout leaders. Yes, your 8 year old boy could go camping with some old gay NAMBLA dude- no conflict of interest there right. But it's the boy scouts, all patriotic and whatnot, a PILLAR of America and conservative values right? They just started embracing the LGBTQ XYZLMNOP deal as well, so now your 8 year old boy can go camping with an 10 year old girl who learned in publix skewl that she can be a boy also, along with the gay scout leader.

I've had to explain things like this to older family members, who for years labored under the "Ward and June Cleaver" mentality. That day is gone. And to go along in life like it's still like that is a good way to get shanked somewhere and not even see it coming.

We have to adapt to changing conditions and not just ASSUME that things are like they always were. Wise as serpents but harmless as doves, knowing the times, etc.

Too often we get to where we just keep going along like always have, believing things are the same and will remain the same. Big changes have happened in this country, most especially in the last decade, NONE of them for the good.

There are probably some idiot Borg attendants living up in CT that have been also stating "we have such good skewls 'roun here", while they walk around with their heads firmly up their arses-

              https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-...e-white-people

According to NBC-4 in New York, the police report states a teacher heard Lemon say “he couldn’t wait for the Panthers to give the OK and a revolution begins,” so he could carry out his threat. The teacher said Lemon had made “similar statements in the past.”

During Lemon’s arrest, the school was put on lockdown for approximately ten minutes. Police noted the counselor was “pacing around his desk and repeatedly” and opening and closing a desk drawer which contained a kitchen knife.

The Connecticut Post reports Lemon also had stomped on an American flag in a classroom exclaiming “This is what I think about it!” In addition, Harding’s principal discovered an anonymous student note in her school mailbox which said Lemon “talks about shooting whites a lot! He watches radical stuff during class. I am scared he will do something… he is crazy.”
