folks,
i'm working on my taxes... which never makes me a happy camper.
howsomeever..
as has been pointed out here.. my bride and i are over the hump... on the downhill slide... drawing some soc. sec.
long in the tooth... you get the idea.
because of our age..
our state is giving us a huge break... i'm not through yet. but i'm 99% sure that i will be getting back all "ALL" of the money i sent to georgia for taxes this year!
can you sing "hallelujah"
here's my point... and reason for bringing this up.. on this forum
spending money or better yet... not spending! is good for the financial situation as you guys prepare...
yep. i know we have some heavy hitters here. some deep pocket fellers..
and that is great. we aren't... the bride and i are just working stiffs, that gave up the "9 to 5" and retired.
i don't understand the details... but
i'm using this computer program to do my taxes and for the last few years, i've been amazed at my georgia refund!
as of now, we are getting back all that we paid in!
so as you heavy hitters, working stiffs, whatever you are, i suggest that you consider georgia as your place to live when you start getting gray haired or silver or no hair!
we have basically been a 6% state income tax state... but as you retire, apparently we have deduction to help out old folks...
and possibly to keep us from moving to florida ??
just for your info !
as i ride off into the western skyline and setting sun on the tractor singing the melody of home home on the range, or hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, amen!
a great big ole southern "yee hah "
