I think the key thing here for the "community with people in our subdivisions we don't know" types who will attempt to use this as an example of what might could be done if TSHTF, is that

1. The S has not HTF, things are semi lawless yes, but not full on.
2. They are backed by big money. $1Mill DAILY in avocado sales I believe the one town does. A mil a day pays a lot of soldiers. Who's willing to be most of them "ain't from 'roun here" and therefore there tied solely to the dollars or pesos.

a story.
reading the Mexican story a Brazilian story from a major city, comes to mind.
the police there went on strike occasionally, and when they did, crime flourished.
when the police worked. they dealt out justice quickly and on the scene.

example. martial arts instructor saw several criminals attack a fellow. karate man started whipping the criminals to save the victim. police came up and saw karate man whipping the criminals and determined karate man was the criminal and they beat him severly.... before they got the facts.

when I visited, a police strike was being threatened... my associate there was not armed. I started looking for a farm supply store to obtain some tools. before tools were bought the strike was called off.

Biggest issue Will be how to pacify surrounding areas.
Like building a Mcmansion subdivision in the hood.
Gates,HOA,private guards and LEO can only keep the hood out for so long........
