  • AI scientists gather to plot end of the world

I guess they are meeting at some place called Cyberdyne?

But don't go stocking up on canned food and moving into a bunker in the wilderness just yet.
    And why the hell not?

First they came to take our jobs at Wendy's. But I didn't work at Wendy's so I didn't care.
Then they came to drive my car for me. But I had an old Toyota so I didn't care.
Later they came to take care of us in the old folks homes and made computer calculations as to who deserved to live and who deserved to die. Because we nutlessly gave in to the gubmint for our "free cheese" of gubmint health care, we had no say in the issue.
Some of us tried to flee, but we had cried for that "wall" and damn those robots built it quick and manned it cheaply, saving the country all that money.
But they "let us" keep our 20th century firearms, so we felt safe, but we were never allowed DD's or anything that would actually stop them.
We lied down to "sleep" to get the "full 20 minutes" and were allowed to cradle a 20th century firearm before we were shipped to the Soylent factory.

It could be said that the think tank was there to see what scenario would work best. Back in 2007, I met one of the designers of Peurto Rico's human-less government service system. All permits, licenses, and freebies were done at kiosks in many places on the island; no humans needed. A backup system is underground in case of hurricane. Perhaps a test case for all the US? We are being pushed to a cashless money system, but online bank and credit card breeches are more common than ants at a picnic. We are told that all of our data needs to be on the cloud. Lots of laptops don't even come with hard drives now. The cloud could be considered unsecured and subject to EMP or CME. I keep hard copies of my important info in a fireproof safe, along with my 1TB HD backups of my computer files.
