Everyone who has registered on the forums within the last year that has a zero post count was emailed and reminded to post an introduction/post something today. New registrations also state that in the welcome email they get automatically from the site.
The criteria for the first prune that began today was/is as follows:
People who have registered BEFORE 1/1/16 that have not been on the forums for 730 DAYS (that's 2 YEARS folks) and ALSO have a ZERO post count.
I'm having to manually do this and it's no fun for sure, but looking at most of the "cut" it is mostly SPAMMER EMAIL ADDRESSES and people that literally registered one day and never came back.
The non active users are being deleted. Being deleted versus being banned means they can come back any time they want and register again.
Most of what I'm seeing /deleting is 2010 join dates with no activity since about then and zero post counts.
This is making the board safer and more efficient. Given the problem we had with the file sharing spammers a few months back, this is absolutely necessary. I ain't gonna apologize for it.
