  • Walmart breakdown

    This was interesting....

So we are traveling through and stop at a Walmart in Baxley, GA, population maybe 10,000 people? Every time through that area we tend to stop there because that store is always clean, seemingly well run and always calm.

Not this go around. No it wasn't Black Friday either.

So lines are a good bit longer than usual at the registers. People are looking and acting pi$$ed. You can feel a tension. Evidently none of the CC processing network there is working. They make a half arse announcement of that not over the PA system but just some broad saying it at normal speaking levels. I happen to catch what she says.

Finally the same girl says "Cash or check ONLY on line 7" in her big girl voice. I call the family over and we get behind some Me'hicans who usually always pay cash. The family gets in line ahead of me and I try to move up to them. Greasy looking chubby dude blocks the lane with his cart sideways to block my path. I laugh and say "calm down turbo, I'm there with my family." He gives me a stupid look. I say "relax" and gently push his cart to the side.

I get up to the family and say "we gotta get the hell out of here, people are starting to go full retard. It's funny but we don't need to be here."

Some of the people shopping that have crap on the conveyor belts have walked forward to an ATM just in front of the lines and are standing there. A younger couple of the African persuasion don't understand why the ATM also won't work and they are getting belligerent with the employees, lot of "how da hell is ..." and "who the F did that..." flying around.

Us and the Me'hicans zoom out the door, leaving about 50 people standing around at the checkouts grumbling and fighting for spots.

It was a funny incident but it shows you how in literally just a few moments, civility can and WILL break down quickly. This was NOT a big city, this was NOT a big crowd, this was NOT just a certain ethnic group. This was a small rural town on a Monday night (not the 1st of the month either) with a cross section of all colors of the rainbow.

And their is still survivalists that think/plan to make "last minute runs" to ANY store to get items as the S is hitting TF. Yeah right..... Like we've said all along, NOT A GOOD PLAN!

real life view of things to come. (well, we hope not, but easy to imagine. oh yeah, this wasn't imagining. was it!)

I have associates in that area of state. I would have thought that there would have been more civility.

but, even if everyone in an area is of European descent, religious house attending, and members of the same pta, we've seen how
    quickly things can break down.
    a few examples:
from the news: relatives don't vote for trump, so hillaryites ban them from family events and slam them.

from the news: black Friday customers, fight and trample others to buy a tv. and TV's have never been in short supply.

from survivalist blogs: Christian makes a post and co blogger declares him a pagan.

from the SW u.sa: a u.s. state isn't part of mexico, so illegals want to fight and disrupt.

from across America: Africans who have been bribed to behave for 3 generations, want to fight (and many are fighting and killing!)
cause they want increased bribery money.

from across America: sorry red/black/white/yellow/purple folks want more money and provision cause de' don wanna work fer it.

from across America: every deviation and abomination wants their category of folks given a higher status and privilege and money
    than other folks.

in my village: a few (very few of us) worked very hard to put on a community event to benefit the whole community.
small (and not helping) groups declared that we HAD to allow and do, and provide certain activities and functions.
lol... I got very unpopular cause I told them "no" and then I had to explain why the answer was "NO" to the
liberals who got behind the FSA!! and the liberals didn't do a dog gone thing to help with all the FSA demands. lol.
except it ain't funny one doggone bit!

    and on and on.

so, in my humble opinion, ld3 had a clear view of "what's to come!"

Something for those that don't know, the credit card readers are also used for the EBT cards, WIC, AFDC, etc. There was already a time when the EBT cards didn't operate for a couple of days In SW Atlanta and it was not a pretty scene. An EMP or pandemic would not be necessary to bring down society, just stop the card readers and turn off cable.

I think we all have a certain level of preparedness in place. Other than bread and milk, I can walk away from most any shopping trip and not have to really do without.
The incident in Baxley though, shows exactly what a thin line separates 'normal' times from chaos.

There is hope, I was in wallworld a short time ago. I always watch people kinda a occupational hazard. Anyway I spotted a young lady with 4 kids shopping. She was not dressed up but her and the kids were very well dressed in old but clean clothes. She was pouring over a box of coupons and the kids were well behaved, but being kids they would quietly ask , MOM can we have a toy, or treat, this was not a pestering as most kids. I could tell she was proud and did not have much money. I never see people with a bridge card use coupons. I walked up and asked ma'm are all these children yours. She looked right at me and said yes sir , but I'm stopping at the four. I said well that is great they seem so well behaved . She told me I was raised to be polite and behave and that is how I raise them. I told her I know you don't know me but that's OK. I am treated very well by the Army and being close to Xmas I would like to treat your kids to a little of something. She said O no sir I can't take anything from you, very adamantly. I looked at the older boy can I give a gift, the boy said no thank you sir, mom said!. So I took a hundred out of my wallet folded it up and put it in the bottom of a mostly empty basket and said merry xmas, you can throw it away or spend it, up to you. Then I turned and walked away. Hearing her say oh my god, thank you but you shouldn't & you can't, then I heard her say well kids I guess you get a treat today. All the kids yelled down the aisle Thank you mister.
NOW I did not do this because I'm rich or over generous. I got to feel good, I picked the person I wished to give to, I made a choice based on overall good feeling of this little family and action from them that is so rare nowadays. I have not seen them anywhere since, I did not know them they did not know me. But I did bring a smile to 4 kids , that was great as far as I was concerned. SO THERE IS HOPE even in Walmart.

Two thumbs up cpt_sfc.....those kids and the mom will likely remember that for a long time. You may have planted 5 seeds right there.
