  • Other shoe incoming?

Market dropped over 400 again yesterday.

Think it will be a gradual decline, day or two up a little bit followed by a 400 pt. down day. Or is their another shoe that will fall soon that will cause some panic like a week back?

Dow 14,000 by the end of the year?

i have come to realization over the last few years that no one can predict what the market does. it is being manipulated by forces beyond our control. the stock market just isn't the same as it was for our parents. we now have machines programmed to sell at certain points, then rebuy when it drops. a human cannot compete with the multiple big bank/fed/big business machines. The HFT (High Frequency Trading) has ruined the market for us little guys. http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?singlepost=3005590

I agree, a small investor cannot win in the computerized transactions we have today, where every drop and rise is acted upon in seconds...

I have no clue where it will go, or why, or when...

I have done "OK" with the market. I tend to buy stocks I know, do a lot of research on the company and the economics of where that product/service fits with today's markets.
Most of the time I am right, but I do have some reverses. Still, my return on investment exceeds what I could get with real estate, metals, CDs or just sticking the money in a coffee can.
