Its a fact, I'm getting older and less tolerable of people, and the dumbing down of this country. I was on call with my main workplace and received an emergency call, an Emergency center was out of product. I have a nurse on the phone yelling at me they had a delivery on friday and all the delivered oxygen was "Empty" Told here it would be an hour and a half and she freaked even worse. I get there and all five of the empty cylinders were "FULL" they never turned the valve on any of them when they hooked up the regulator. There were 3 nurses and a doctor at this Facility. Not a one knew what to do. A Doctor for loves sake?????? All were 20 somethings all the nurses said they were never taught, blah, blah, blah... the doctor who was yelling at me from the moment I walked in the door that my company was no longer going to be employed by them etc., etc. was now turning his anger at the nurses berating and telling them in front of me and patients what idiots they were, I asked him if he was so smart why he couldn't figure it out. Then he asks me if they were still getting the emergency delivery fee, YES... YES you are. I then had to show all of them how to turn a cylinder on and adjust liters per minute. Sad times
So in the same parking lot in Dr Phillips is a open Barnes and Nobel. I go in to get a cup-o-joe, regular not that fancy stuff. I browse through the gun rags and low and behold there must be 4 different "Preparedness periodicles (magazines) "Bug Out", "Off Grid", "Survive", i forgot the name of the fourth. Then Recoil Magazine has a preparedness section as well. I was perusing through "BUG Out" when a Dr. Phillips yuppie starts with..."You one of those wackos?" I look up and ask... "You talking to me?" (Denero watch out) YES is his reply.I state you seem like a smart feller, You cant figure that out on your own captain obvious? He left. I put the magazines up took my coffee, and left.
Lesson learned In my older age Im getting annoyed easier. Don't let OPSEC down and show your hand in public (reading prep magazines in public). Doctors are not as smart as I believed they were. They are not fully training nurses at UCF everything is hooked and and ready to go for them in class. This is not the first time I have run into them not knowing if cylinder full, empty, or how to hook up and use.
Rant over, had to vent
