  • Essentials Items on Bug Out List

It's the packing process that is going to kill everyone's time frame upon bugging out. Everyone THINKS they can be gone in 5 minutes until they really have to bugout. I know I did.
Above is a quote from Lowdown from another thread. The comment made me think about the things people need to get before bugging out.

I recently made a check list on my computer because I was afraid I'd forget something essential.

It's not just food, water, guns and ammo, it's stuff like papers, computer and flash drives, money and gold and silver.

I put on my list things like my jewelry, silver service, coins, first aid bag etc.

What's on you list to essential items to take when you bug out for good.

I have a 3 ring binder for the family with different emergencies listed and what needs to be taken.
    Bugging
The only thing that is real pressing here is tornandos in which we do not have alot of time sometimes. However we begin as soon as we see signs of weather and do not wait. Fast bugouts and Ins will have to be what you have on and what you can grab such as a firestorm, SHTF or chemical spill (I live near a railroad). I carry a Glock 26 and at least 1 spare Glock 17 mag everywhere. When i get up I put it a knife a multi-tool, cell phone and a flashlight on period. I have 55 cord and a firestarter on my key ring. Our medications are by the door instead of the bathroom.
    GOOD
In addition to what you have listed I have fishing equip (not my fancy rigs either) Meds, Radios, Camper that stays Red Dawn Ready with food, water, fuel etc.
Seasonal Clothing, Tools both Gardening and Mechanical, Religious items, Games & Books(boredom was my biggest enemy in the military), address book, seasonal vehicle items such as deicer, scrapers fuel treatment etc.
These are just a few things I can think of.
Having a list is great and not redundant as folks think. Just watch a military load out and see the difference in a new Lieutenant and an old Plt Sgt and you will see how valuable a list and knowledge of what you have are!
