    BATFE is looking to ban M855

    Okay, if you haven't heard, the BATFE is looking to ban M855 ammo as they consider it "armor piercing" and say it is used in handguns (AR pistols). One of the reasons they wish to ban M855 is that it can pass thru BA that LEOs wear, when shot out of an AR pistol. Well, no s#!t. With reasoning like that what is to say that they will want to ban other .223/5.56 or even x39 ammo? I mean, both XM193 and x39 can pass thru BA used by LEOs, so when will those be considered for banning?

    Look, they want to ban all weapons, we all know that. What if they just start banning ammo for the "safety of LEOs" and its "all about safety of children". You know the story line. Let us all get off our butts and write, sign and call or once again, the 2A will be whittled away.

    You may be strictly a AK guy and think "so what". Well, the x39 may be on the chopping block sooner or later as well...oh wait, didn't some 5.45x45 get banned. This is a principle thing, not an AR vs. AK thing. So here is a petition to sign....although, it is a White House petition. Anyway, we need to stand up and let them hear our voices. Stand up for your rights, my friends.

    But, Mr. PSD I don't want to be on a "list". Hate to tell you, but you are already on several lists if you're a Christian, gun owner, Apple user, Fakebook user, Twitter, Instagram. user or have visited any gun forums, survival forums or Christian forums.

    Okay, a little digging and from what I see 5.56 or heck even .223, has not been used as a caliber of choice for felonious killing of LEO's with handguns. And, only 21 times were those two calibers used in 474 total felonious killings of LEO's with rifles (not handguns) since 2004. That equates to about 4.5% if I did my math correct. AND...if I haven't shown enough, only ONE, yep ONE, LEO since 2004 (actually in 2004--none since) has been feloniously killed using 5.56 caliber.

      Stop confusing the issue (ammo control to effectively do gun control) with LOGIC and facts... :-)

      Until 0bama is booted out at the end of his term, the BATFE will do whatever they can to push anything over the line....

      But I see no future POTUS candidate that will stop BATFE either... We are in dangerous times, my friend.

      We just need to keep vocal....

        It's not about outlawing M855 ammo based on past usage by felons to kill LEO. It's about restricting future use against federal agents when they decide to toss the Constitution and declare martial law.

          As of this moment, this thread has had 59 views and three posts. Many may not think that this proposed change affects them, or maybe we have gotten to the point of apathy. I mean, he!!...it seems like everyday we hear of another part of our Constitution being trampled on, so it's easy to just give up. Well, before you think you shouldn't care, you may want to read this.

          Write your CONgress Critters, sign petitions, and let your voice be heard. As other posters have essentially stated, if they take away our ammo, eventually the weapons become clubs.

          BTW, it's not time to panic buy, but keep stockpiling.

            Most cops use armor that isnt stab resistant either. Guess they better outlaw arrows because a simple broadhead will cut right through a standard level 3a vest.

                Maybe this will motivate people that were fired up when ammo was really high in price but have not kept up with purchasing after things cooled back down.

                    one aspect of this rule change that has gone unnoticed, is that the same 'logic' could be used to ban virtually all rifle ammo. With Thompson-Center and other folks making hand guns in rifle calibers, almost any cartridge can be banned now.

                      Long time coming

                      This was expected a couple of years ago, the only question being when.
                      Sure Big Ears is going for the M855/SS109.
                      BUT they're also going to go for the M193 and the rest of it as soon as they can so buy what you can NOW.
                      Sure hope they're as stupid as they normally are and put off the .308 for awhile.
                      .223 is nice but .308 is the berries.
                      Out power, Out kinetic energy and out range mouse guns.

                        Any dictate ban of ammo by a 4-year elected person via "Executive Order should be good to fight over... If it won't get stopped legally, then last option is 2016. If that fails, then one has to decide to be a Partizan (fights for restoration) or an Ambassador (one just observes as one from another Kingdom)...

                          It's probably a good time to stock up on any/all of your favorite flavors.

                          Prices have went down a bit and stock seems to be better than a couple years ago.

                          Now may not be the cheapest time, but it seems to be THE time.
