  • power ball lottery

    well,
    you've probably already heard...
    powerball 564 million.
    but there were 3 winners..

and those 3 will share 381 million if they "take the cash"

that would be 127 million each... and they'd still have taxes to pay.

I had 6 tix. 5 of them were bought on halves..
the problem is I didn't tell the other guy which 5 he had half of.

I did have fun thinking what I would do with half of 450 million.

huge piece of land... was the first step.

anyhow... I hope it was one of you guys/gals that won.

      here's my best lottery story.

in the state of flagabama there was a pretty secretary at the insurance agency in rural county.
she lived in neighboring fancy county with her husband. fancy is rural too, but it's got shopping centers and fast food places, a walmart, 3 car dealerships, and a bunch of redlights, and, well it's more prosperous than where she worked... a great rural county, where the school system is the center of all the social activities. husband was a good ole boy. a maintenance man for the county hud houses.

secretary caught the eye of the school superintendent!
and you can guess what happened... secretary left maintenance man and "moved on up" and married the school superintendent.
she left the mobile home and went to a fine brick home... just as she deserved.... her being a fine feminine specimen of high character and all that!

well, poor ole jilted husband stayed on at the county, living in the mobile home, finally got him a girlfriend and he remained a good loyal worker for the county. until, one day he bought himself one of those lottery tickets... yep.. sho did.
      ain't never won nothing...
lol.... I'm getting old and the facts are little skewed, but I think it was 150,000,000.
aint it poetic justice... secretary moved out and "up" she thought!!
      ---
here's the rest of the story... just gossip... he took the cash, but didnt' get 150 million. nope... it was only about 85 million.
so, he got his girlfriend and they got in his ole truck and they drove to the state lottery office and got their check...
on the way home, they stopped at the hummer dealer, you know the one, right there on the interstate...
got him a new hummer... girlfriend wanted a new car too... "nope" he said... "we'll take care of that later, I want you riding with me
      when we get back home."

so they drive on for a few hours to get back to his trailer house in fancy county.. lol... what would you know...
there was cars and trucks on the side of the road, the yard was full of vehicles and cars and trucks (mostly trucks!) on the sides of the road as you go on past the mobile home!
wonder why everybody he'd ever knowed and all his kin folk, would be there at his house!? he hadn't told a soul about winning that there money.
anyhow, ole maintenance man, he just looked at girlfriend and said, I don't think we'll be stopping at the house tonight.
we are going on down toward the coast for a few days... you've been wanting me to take you to florida. and well, I think we can afford it now..

word has it that ole maintence man has done bought himself a great huge piece of land on the main highway that goes down toward the lake... put one of those great big ole fences around it... raising him some bird dogs...
oh yeah, he's on the board at all 4 banks in town...

lol... I keep thinking about ole secretary. she sho f__ (oops !) goofed up!

the facts and details ain't just right to protect the parties involved (and cause I got CRS) ,,,, but folks this is true story!

There would have been a lot of purchases from JRH if I had won ;) I will still make purchases from JRH but just not as big.

        tithe
        giving
        debts
        emergency fund
        property
