I'm in the process of decluttering my "Armory" (garage) and shed selling off some projects Ill never get to or Jeep parts I no longer use/need. Well with all the AR-15 parts laying about I posted them for sale on another board. Knuckle head replies he wants to buy my Lothar Walther 14.5", stainless, spiral fluted barrel. I was asking $350.00 for it new in wrap. this was wholesale price I paid for it. Caller agreed to price and also wanted to look at a Colt 10" 9mm AR-15 barrel I had new in wrap as well but was "not positive" he wanted.
I get to The spot we agreed to meet (was not letting him know where I live, OPSEC) I arrived 5 min early. The time came and went 15 minutes after meet time I contact him and I get "oh I havent left yet Im running a bit late" I asked if he was serious about buying or not, said he was and would be there in 35 minutes. I waited and about 45 minutes later he shows after he contacts me about traffic being bad.
I get the barrels out and he hums and haws and said the colt barrel is only worth $100.00 and would only give me that much for it. I said nah think I'll just keep it and he got a bit offended I would not take his offer for a "New" barrel.
he then looks at the stainless barrel in sealed plastic and states "I aint givin no cash over till I open it and check the bore to be sure its not rusted..." he then flicks out his knife I quickly take two steps back reaching for my CCW but he makes short work of slicing open the plastic and spilling the barrel out. I lost my temper and said you dont open something you havent purchased, anywhere. He ignored me and said "yep its good" but im only giving $300.00 because that what stainless lothar barrels go for retail, I said not fluted they dont. Im already hot about wasing my time waiting for him to get there "LATE" but then he wants to low ball and dicker with me after we agreed upon a price prior to meeting. Now Im left with this. A bad taste in my mouth as well.
Be careful out there guys too many knuckleheads out there now a days. Now I have to repost everything for sale again.
