  • SHOT Show was a great success

Just got back last night from SHOT and a surplus show.

You tell people your going to Vegas for shows like this and they envision you sipping a cold drink by a pool, showgirls, blah blah blah.

It's WORK. On your feet the entire time, walking ten miles or more. Heck I still feel gimped up from the first leg of the flight out there. I shared seats with John Candy and Ving Rhames.... Well $300. pays for the entire seat, but you'll only get to use the EEEDDDDDGGGGEEEE!

I can honestly say my body feels more relaxed after fighting 3-4 guys half my age.

Got some "sweet new hookups" :) that we will be debuting slowly over the next couple weeks. Learned a whole bunch more about "a great many things..." Including realizing that many of the larger Night Vision manufacturers are WHOLESALING PVS14's (most with a lesser warranty than we offer also!!!) for about what we are RETAILING them for!! One place told me their "great price" for a PVS14 with a 5 year warranty (NOT 10 year like ours) was $3295. I smiled, told him the qty. we sold last year and asked for a better price. "Oh man that's a lot, but we are locked in at that price for wholesale, but you'll do good with them..." BLAH BLAH BLAH. I showed him our site and showed him our better unit on sale for $3195. RETAIL. "Wow man, stick with whatever you are doing."
    Yeah no duh right!!

Nothing I didn't know already, but it's nice to realize even some of the MANUFACTURERS can't touch the price you have!!!

Got hooked up with Aimpoint and will be adding their line of optics to the JRH Enterprises site here really soon. If you need a PRO optics, email me in the next few days, I promise to make it worth your while wink wink

    robertjrhenterprises@gmail.com

They are NV compatible and a quick sight. Battery life is expressed in YEARS and you gotta see their product videos where they are sending diver's down to pick up scopes way under water, then tossing them like a baseball while a BATTER hits them with a bat!!

I like tough gear, that sold me!!!

How about a lightweight Level III plate that FLOATS? We hooked up with DKX Armor who is offering IMO one of the best composite Armor plates on the market. Keep in mind these aren't steel plates, so they won't weigh 9 lbs. each but they also aren't cheap. In the $500. range. We will be adding them to the site soon.

Have some neat gear coming including new lightweight cold weather jackets that compress down. Kinda like the Snugpak Sleeka Extreme but a good bit cheaper.

More to come, gotta play some catch up today also. Glad to be home in the south!

Yeah, we know, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.... I hear Showgirls, or something like them, are just falling out of the sky in your lap at conventions... Hahaa!

Except for my heavy Meopta 1x4, Aimpoint is all I use now days... I really like the Micro's.

Fill us in as time allows... I have little patience for the usual Shot Show videos of what is called cool stuff but looks like useless crap to me... How many more styles of knives can anyone come up with by now? Of cool mag base plates with bad *** logos... :-)

Well you know I didn't bother with any of the black rifle stuff- so that saved looking at about 1/3 of the booths :)

My buddy Ray has the DKS... Great stuff there. I may be able to afford some this year, keep us posted. Very interested in the DKX and the Aimpoint Pro series, I need another red dot soon as well.
Glad it was rewarding for you and your business, I stopped going 2 years back. Let the new kids go... they fell prey to the SWAG I warned them. Made my buddies company look bad (shaking my head).

Actually huge booth and the optics were mounted on those little wooden stocks not on Mattel plastic ;)

Aimpoint works just as good on an AK as that "other" rifle.

Aimpoint PRO is hard to beat. Three year battery life when unit is left on...says so in manual to leave on.

Seeing a diver scoop one up from the bottom of the ocean then a guy pitching one to a batter who hit the thing square on sold me :)

It may be overboard, but have an Aimpoint Micro T-1 & Parabellum Arms AKARS mount on my AK-74 Tantal... So I concur!

Has anyone run an aimpoint on a FAL? I have a cut down Rhodesian 16" oal barrel pinned and welded flash hider. I might try one on, but it might not be ideal for the 308.

Aimpoints are ideal on anything... If the FAL has iron sights, then the Aimpoint can't do any worse than dramatically improve that capability... But an ACOG w/BAC would be ideal.

Sold the FAL and most of my stash of .308 during the gun stampede for a bundle... Replaced it with an AK-74 and a Thompson-Center Predator .308 bolt carbine plus cash to spare. ;)
