  • sierra leone - apparently too far gone?

    ny times article
    I started to summarize it...
but don't want to mis quote.

it sounds to me like folks in charge are conceding sierra leone has been written off.

I hope that someone(s) will find some posts that disprove my conclusion...
    because if not...
the thought of a whole country becoming an ebola incubating scene!!

    is huge

then again.. maybe sealing the borders and letting the disease "burn out" ?

if this is true we should be praying for the people of Sierra Leone. Imagine being surrounded by infected people with no way to escape to safety.

Not enough beds...same would happen here is say a large majority get sick from (insert funk of choice) . Just overwhelms the system so folks are left to self treat. Only issue on our side is when folks who """expect "" cough cough treatment do not get it....

totally true protus.. Most large cities in the us can supply what 150-300 available beds TOPS.Averages I have read indicate 2.5-2.9 beds total per 1,000 people . Our medical system doesnt have the personnel or supplies on hand to deal with a Ebola outbreak of that magnitude. A couple months ago every medical supply house in my AO was back ordered on Ringers IV fluid. Every one of them said on back order from manufacturer. What would the death rate from Ebola look like without IV fluids in our MODERN medical system?? We like to claim "ooh it could never get that bad here, we have a modern health care system" Really!! a damn is a damn until it breaks, and no matter how nice your damn was before it broke it isnt holding back the water now.

There'd be a lot of ER problems ....triage alone...Ebola /sick you go here....cut of arm...here.....then the "youz has to treat me now " types will lose it.rich or poor
I think we've all seen those movies before.
Self isolation /care for an outbreak that bad could in fact help limit cases if the infected don't go into fight /fight mode and stay in place.

Looks like being picked up and taken to those "clinics" is a death sentence... Nothing but suffering after that until you die. Very sad and sobering lessons.

Seriously, I have no idea how they will get it under control over there... It seems insurmountable without drastic people control, and maybe even euthanasia.

If it hits in the USA hard, I expect massive and intense martial law controls. Bulk cremations. Mass graves. No traditional burials services. Too overwhelming to think about for long...

I think General John Kelly (USMC) is the only person who has been truthful about how dangerous Ebola is to the US if it gets a foothold in either Central or South America. Katy bar the door indeed because we will be overrun by a tide of illegals the likes of which have never been seen.
"One cannot but ponder the question: what if the Arabs had been Christians? To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Mohammed and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly what he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing. Here, I think, is a text for some eloquent sermon on the virtues of Christianity." - General George S. Patton, diary, June 9, 1943.

BINGO!! Tackleberry has hit the nail on the head. All of the countries south of us have very crappy health care systems and WHEN not IF it gets loose there we will have a huge nightmare of a problem!

Everyone on here please pray the world comes up with a vaccine for EBOLA SOON!

We all on here are of like mind hence the name Survival and Preparedness forum but please my friends prep like you have just started prepping. Double or TRIPLE your food and medical stocks!

                  Time is running short!

muslim burial rites, and practices are increasing the spread of ebola...
I had to think about this for a while...

after remembering that the muslims have declared war on civilization..
and even though ebola is a bad way to exit from this world...
I think the muslims should continue to follow the rules and procedures of
                    their leadership..
they are going to the lake of fire... hmm.. that will probably sanitize the ebola!
so they can properly enjoy the future.
sounds mean doesn't it! but doggone it... I'm tired of the worldwide terror their group is causing.
push on them tummies, wash the bodies up carefully, get lots of family in on the process!

with the wholesale importation of infected into America, it is not beyond belief, to suspect obama is trying to overwhelm health care in America.
