  • Silver at $17.25 you buying?

Got an APMEX alert that silver had hit $17.25

Course last night I bought some before it dropped $.30 Such is life.

I try to buy a little here and there and a while back when it first was playing around the $20. spot mark for a while made the decision that if it went down to where we could get XX number at around $20. an ounce delivered, then I'd pry open the wallet, fight the cobwebs and pull the trigger on a quantity.

This brings a lesson in setting lines, tripwires, whatever you want to call it. Now it may go to $15. an ounce for all I know, and so be it if it does.

But MY trigger point was $20. an ounce delivered (paying premium on a nice coin- Maple Leaf). I missed one chance last week doing the hem and haw BS and I kicked myself for it.

Yes, it may go to $15. spot and $18.50 or so delivered, dunno. What I do know is that the price I paid was at MY trigger point.

Get used to setting realistic trigger points and ACTING when you get to those. Whether it's something like "if I ever can't pay off this CC bill every month I'll cut it up and be done with it" or "if riots start in 3 major US cities, I'll begin my BO plans."

People without decent plans and decision points/trigger points WILL WAIVER. They will "hem and haw" like I did over the first chance to make this purchase.

    Be ready.
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

Good points. I'll hit the local coin store this week and pick me up some junk silver, bars and eagles. Maybe I'll catch it at $15 or maybe $20 but I'll take either. I like the $20 or less mark as well.

See my cut off was 15$.... but pm's are lil further down the prep list for me now days...things like mowers....tillers...medical preps get the spare funds...LOL
Would be nice for it to drop sub 10$ like before but doubt it.

I thought that with the $ failing, and turmoil that pm would go up..
          sometimes I think wrong..

          silver 16.92 !
          how low will it go???

make your predictions and we'll see..
          we need a date.

          dec. 31
what is the lowest that silver will be between now and dec. 31 2014??

i'll reach up in the air and say $14.00

pure wag... (I left out the s because there was no sophistication or scientific to it!)

Several months ago, I decided to start a (very) small scale buying program. Usually 1 or 2 ounces of silver a month (as funds allow from normal life and other preps).

So this drop in price is a huge boon for me, I would be buying anyways so the drop to $17ish just gained me some money!

The Outdoor channel show "The Best Defense" addressed this once. In their example it was about flooding. Put a stick in the ground, once the water hits it, implement your "dealing with rising water plan".

Now, how good your "dealing with rising water plan" is can be debated, but there should be no question on when it is triggered.

                waldo,
I've had some flooding at my homes before... the stick in the ground is a good and clear example/direction.
you might want to go post that over in the ebola thread!
