Israel basically in a ground war now, Putin seeing how far he can push around 'po ole obama', the last thing we B slapped the Russians down with (money stranglehold) is largely gone or seen as more of a paper tiger now, new restrictions on weapons, one of our borders has for most practical purposes almost collapsed......... Can we add more here?
Are you stepping things up? I would definitely say if you are behind the curve it would be a good time to do just that.
Minimums I would consider-
*Six months food for each family member. Not on a "spreedsheet" or a "list", not "doing research on which is best" actually in your flippin pantry. Things are moving faster now, be ready. Four mouths to feed in your family means FOUR six month supplies of food.
*2,000 rounds ammo for battle rifle for each adult family member. This is your SHTF minimum. This does NOT include training ammo. 2 trained adults in family and 2 rifles means a MINIMUM of 4,000 rounds
*Obviously some water stored and way to get more. Could be as simple as 2 weeks water in clean 5 gallon buckets or clean 2 liter soda bottles. Just watch the soda bottles, they WILL biodegrade. It's a very very short term thing.
*10 gallons gas in cans. For most cars now a days this equates out to 200-400 miles distance (baring huge traffic jams, etc.) OR whatever you know it will take you to get to your retreat or BO area plus 10% In cans, preserved with PRI-G at your house under your control. Not "I got this company gas card and..." BS. If you don't POSSESS IT NOW, then it's not yours....
*$500. cash American FRNs. So many survivalists don't carry any cash any more, just using debit cards for everything. That's pathetically LAZY. Build up at least $500. cash as a reserve that you keep hidden at your house. No one half smart will take your credit or debit card, check once things start to fall apart. However some people won't see the big picture that things are falling apart and some will probably take CASH. You may get gouged for the gas and pay $20. a gallon for it. But if you had heeded my advice in the paragraph above, that wouldn't be an issue would it?
Why did I write this so simple? I mean we are survivalists right, certainly we know all this correct? Well, KNOWING something and DOING something are two totally different things in the world today. In the world of internet "researchers" who will spend 2 weeks reading about something, NEVER ACTUALLY DOING IT and justify it by saying they were "doing research" on the subject, there is a lot of TALK and a lot less ACTION than their used to be. TALK or "plans" or a "list" doesn't keep your family safe, ACTION does. It's time for ACTION.
"But Robert you didn't go far enough..." Like I said, I kept it really simple, short term easy goals type stuff.
What these simple actions will do is to keep you from HAVING to try to go to the grocery store at 11:59 SHTF time, thereby avoiding potential conflict, claims of "hoarding", limits on how much you can buy, the potential of someone recognizing you and yours and making a mental note- "OK, the Smiths have food, I know where they live" after seeing you wheel 4 buggies out of Walmart parking lot. If you stored the gas you will be able to fuel up before you leave your house, cause yeah "don't park the car on less than a half tank" is a great adage but few ACTUALLY DO that on a regular basis. Also in a pandemic type scenario you can further AVOID CONTACT WITH PEOPLE by not going to the gas station, going to the grocery, etc. This is very important. Finally, the cash will keep you from being one of the schmucks waiting in line at your bank (if it's even open) when SMART PEOPLE WILL BE GETTING THE FUDGE OUT!
ALL of these things help facilitate a faster BUG OUT. A faster bug out means a BETTER CHANCE OF SURVIVING. They make it easier. The only variable then is the scenario and most importantly YOU and your family. As the S if hitting TF the "researchers" will want to get on the net, turn channels, post questions on survival forums like "do you think it's time to bug out?" WHILE THEY SHOULD BE GETTING OUT. Don't be one of those clowns, get moving quick. Just like in tactics, good decisions made QUICKLY often spell the difference between victory and defeat.
