  • What was her name?

I remember hearing a story about a gal during the American Revolution that worked at a tavern. British troops came in and were drinking heavily. They put their muskets up against the wall.

She waited till they were good and drunk and then started taking their muskets. I don't remember how the story ended but I can envision it ending with some Patriots coming in to the tavern and the Brits going "uh oh, where's my musket!"

    Anyone know her name?

My understanding she ended shooting two of the soldiers and then hanging the rest.

The American Revolution is full of stories where the "Regulars" where out witted and down right out played (shooting and tactics) by the "insurgents" or "militia". Our schools dont teach about such things because it empowers that feeling of the people having the power NOT the FEDS.

If our paradigm changed that we were more powerful than the government we would not live with a congress that only has a 6% approval rating.

absolutely.. Morgans Rangers, a group of some 500 backwoodsmen and riflemen carried out operations that today would be considered text book special forces tactics. At Saratoga they patrolled the edges of the British lines and denied enemy scouts from gaining recon ability on the Americans, they attacked British foraging parties and routinely engaged in sniper operations killing officers while they relaxed in camp. These 500 men were pivotal in degrading the abilities of the better trained and equiped British force (7,000 strong) to a point that they were defeated. This victory was not lost on Englands long time enemy France and seeing that the Americans may actually stand a chance the French decided to provide assistance to us. SOO can a few well trained irregular troops make a big difference??? I think they can and I think history proves it!!
