    sorry for digressing!
I do trust the guy completely... he and his nurse wife are welcome at my camp anytime. but they live a long long way from me.
Sounds like the kind of guy I would keep an eye on to see if other "traits" exist... The basics are there. If he lived close.

At military parades in Moscow and newly annexed Crimea today, Putin gave further hints of a new Russian doctrine that combines Soviet nostalgia with ethnic Russian themes.

SITREP is the government (you know those guys who get paid by us to do whatever they want) has information that something big and BAD is on the horizon

do you think they are going to tell us

NO WAY they want us to be uninformed cause the uniformed are happy with the status quo

I am not uniformed. I am not happy.

I am just trying to get as prepared as I can.

When whatever happens I will survive and I will drag my family kicking and screaming with me (LOL)

thanks for bringing this back up...
looking at my post and list of "what should I be doing"

several are completed!! I knew things had been hectic.

pantry stocking is still super deficient...

hmm... time to go check out JRH's mountain house offerings.
with other expenditures... I need to check and see if he takes credit cards! I think so!

            He does :)

And the way things have been going, Mountain House isn't that much different in price...not to mention it's pretty darned good!

But back to the OP...yes, things are not calm and stable in the world by any stretch of the imagination. Ukraine, Middle East, China...take your pick. None are good situations and none are getting the media or any other form of attention they deserve.

Keep prepping, keep praying! (not necessarily in that order)

ZeroHedge - On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero

All the stuff all the economic gurus have been telling us will kill the dollar are starting to fall in line.

I just sold half of my last mutual fund holdings in my Roth the other day right before the Dow topped 17,000 I may go to 18,000 for all I know, and I could see it being artificially inflated to that. However I'm now 95% or more in cash (money market funds). Before the "put it in gold" comments start flying, this is my "the S DOESN'T HTF retirement plan" or part thereof.

I'm looking for a large correction, then I'll buy back in again. The mutual funds I sold were all bought during one of the corrections a few years ago. A large cap fund was bought at $11.20 and sold recently at $14.87 and an overseas fund bought at $10. was sold at $12.80 I'll do the same next correction.

Yes, my family will eat, have potable water, safe place, etc. whether SHTF or not. This is but one leg of a plan with as many legs as a centipede LOL

Wise man! Been hearing the sky is falling since the late 80's... To retire, you still have to play the game until the sky really does fall...

And there's at least one of them coming to Emory University Hospital here in Atlanta....around 5 miles from where I work, about 15 miles from where I live!!! Getting a little nervous here.

If as a kid, you tended towards being a trouble making type kid, and you knew from numerous times before that this other kid wouldn't do anything but cry like a girl if you hit him, would you get a smack in some time?

That's the US under Obama and Russia under Putin right now.

Yep, that's what he's doing. He sees and smells weakness.
