Well hell, no one is saying it would be a picnic but I believe humanity COULD recover. Wouldn't be the next day or even the next year, but we could recover-

I still remember the "useful idiots" doing a skit for some senior crap in high school talking about by the year 2000 you'd need SPF 100 to even just walk outside for 5 minutes!

40 years ago we were going to have a new ice age.
10 years later we were supposed to panic because of the NUCLEAR WINTER if we had a WW3.
10 years after that we were told if you left your pet in the car while you shopped, your pet would be roast beef when you got back because of solar heating
3 years after that the guy who invented the internet told us the world was going to overheat from global warming.
Now some young idjit is telling us we're subject to another version of NUCLEAR WINTER.

If you don't know the dumb failures of the past, you're condemned to repeat them again and again.

Amazing what the current crop of useful idiots is resurrecting.

The lesson I learned is one day, not necessarily today but one day, if you ain't got it you'll not get it.

The bad side to all this is the fact that we have idiots in DC who think in terms of acceptable losses. A real nuclear conflict will not be confined to a region like Ukraine. Even worse consider having Obama as Idiot and Chief over our military during a real nuclear war.

One thing is you would find out very quickly who were the real preppers and who were the pretenders. My wife pointed out to me today that it was 35 years ago that Five Mile Island Nuclear plant in Harrisburg, PA went south and spewed nuclear material out. I had to stay directly across the river from it nine months later. Hotel rooms were really cheap that year when you had a view of the plant.

WIll there be survivors? I am sure there will be. Some by their own preparations and many by shear luck.
