it took me a few minutes to realize the deal...
"any volume" can be bought at a price that is normally reserved for big volume purchasers.

    good deal...

at 2 large coin shows this year, it was hard to get eagles for 3.00 over...
    so yep... 2.79 is good.

just a little low on cash right now!!

I don't have any silver, or gold for that matter. Would it be worth it for me to just buy 3 or 4 to start me off? I know absolutely zilch about PM's, and my very limited disposable income is going towards food store's and debt payoff currently.
      Thanks for any advice

To answer you with a non-answer, I think it would depend on where you are in your food stores and debt payoff. It may be better to take half of what you you'd spend on these and get some junk silver in dimes (90% silver) and use the other half to continue on the food/debt path. It's still silver, so it would increase/decrease in value like the Eagles, but would give you some smaller denomination during bartering in a SHTF moment. Junk silver is still recognizable to those that know coins. An Eagle is recognizable but harder to split into a smaller size to barter for something. Now I have some of both, but my Eagles are more for leverage against inflation while my junk coins will be used in TSHTF if it arrives.

        Hope that helps...YMMV

using the apmex site as a guide..
90% silver coins are selling at 1.69 over spot...
silver eagles are selling at 2.79 over spot...

          both have an advantage...
howsomever, if you are a value bargain shopper and want some silver... the 90% have a slight price advantage right now, at apmex.

patriotic summed it up well, in my opinion.

I just found this at JM Bullion:

2014 silver eagles at $2.49 over spot.. With free shipping included.
It seems like a good price, based on the local prices I see around my area.
Has anyone used JM Bullion before??

Yeah me too, just a hair more at Apmex. I'm interested in buying under $20.

Someone posted something about that supposedly "production costs" on silver is over $21. an ounce right now, etc. etc. Anyone have a link to anything confirming that. Seems a bit far fetched.
Boris- "He's famous, has picture on three dollar bill!"

Rocky- "Wow! I've never even seen a three dollar bill!"

Boris- "Is it my fault you're poor?"

I am not an industry insider for PM's, so I don't have an exact answer to your question.

I would research "Silver Cash Costs" vs "Silver Complete Costs".

If the person was talking about the Complete Costs, they are in the ballpark; and I would think the Complete Cost number would be the one you would want to base your research on.

The issue I see in getting the real Complete Costs number, is having all the information on what the mine is spending and what the market price should be. Since most of us don't have access to the current information when doing the calculation, it is hard to determine the Complete Cost is today. Anyone can tell you what the Complete Cost was for 2011/2012; but how much value does that hold in 2014? That is the part I haven't figured out yet.
