  • barrow's gun store--

in middle ga. (butler- in the middle of no where!) there is an auto parts store -
once you are well in to the auto parts store if you are paying attention, there is an entrance to a gun store!!
usually good prices i'm told and friendly folks. this is out of my usual area, but i stopped by today. large inventory.
    they were busy... real busy...
i told them i wanted an item, but wanted to see it.. it was in their warehouse, but they were too busy to send someone with me! good news for them. (being so busy) i left. not mad. i understand.
other folks weren't getting waited on either.
i noticed that several unrelated customers were beginning to eyeball 3 guys.
    --
they had unusual mannerisms. they couldn't stand straight. they had a waviness or jerkiness to all their actions. 2 of them had their underwear showing. their britches were too low. they were discussing what their next gun purchases would be and energetically letting any one nearby hear them as they discussed the ?? gangster/mobster looking guns ??
they were eyeing. the more they talked the more other shoppers began to notice and other shoppers began to listen and the normal shoppers began to catch each others eye and nod.
i think it was a wake up call.

This begs the question "were they able to pass the backgound check to purchase a weapon"? I've been in several gun stores in both Alabama and in Florida, all of the customers I've ever seen have been, at least on the face of it, average citizens like you and me. Were they thinking of robbing the store, or returning when the SHTF to take what they wanted? Was the store owner doing something illegal?

As far as the small town aspect, a recent report on gang activity reported that gangs actually move into very small town and set up their 'headquarters'. Eventually expanding their area of control. Small town across America - particularly the southern part of the U.S. are magnet for gangs which traffic in all types of human misery. The gangs are organized and are developing a vast network across the U.S. They are far better organized than 'survivalist' networks.

There is a small hole in the wall community in the Florida panhandle, that manufactured hugh quantities of Meth. When the police and FBI finally got wise, the citizens of the community and it's nearby larger town, were absolutely astounded. Apparently this story is being repeated all over America.

I thought (or hoped) i was the only one. My encounter was in a little gun store i frequent. 5 or 6 hoods (short for hoodlums) can in and passed a background check and were buying a gun i could not afford, because it looked mean.

In my area what has happened is that the inner city is being repopulated with a younger group of rich kids and are pushing the people that lived in the "slums" out into the suburbs. When the rich kids buy the house in the city it is gutted and redone and paid based on the location not the worth.

So when the people in the slums receive vast sums of money which they buy a house three times as big and then buy drugs with the rest.

So the people in the slums become the neighbors of the people in the suburbs and you know the rest of the story. It drags down the suburbs eventually just like it did the neighborhood in the city.

        What a shame.

RR- sounds like they might not have been snubbing you. I bet they were unwilling to have ANY employees leave the immediate area for the time being.... Think about it.

            lowdown,
i don't think they were snubbing me. i recommend the store. just short on sales folks - considering the large group of buying customers.. sat afternoon.
            but...
it became clear that the customers were "paying attention"
i had not considered that the salesmen were "paying attention" but it makes lots of sense. i suspect you are right.

            very good point.

Many small towns across America have become breeding grounds for druggies, and drug dealers (along with manufacturers). In a small town right on the Okla./Texas state line where I moved from, the local mayor, and police protect these worthless s***, while at the same time making life hard for the honest citizen. If I were still a young man I would seriously consider pulling a Mack Bolan on this human excrement.

they may have beed dressed bad, but to be in a gun store to buy a gun, they must have had a clean record, or at least the one who was going to put his name on the line
