  • ordering ammo - this may be a good time.

    with the thread.. tighten up.
and with prices much lower than a year ago.
and with u.s. threats to sanction Russia.
there is reasonable possibility of shortage of Russian made ammo.
not to mention democratic efforts to limit your rights to own weapons and ammo

I propose that this is the time for all of us procrastinators to go buy ammo.
especially if you shoot some of that communist stuff.

    miked,
when I read your post, I thought no... I checked yesterday and folks still had...
    I checked today...
ammoman had one brand of 762x39 and high priced.
sgammo yesterday had many brands of same, but today, very little.

based on these two retailers.. if you want some, yes. better get some today...

I just checked cabelas... they say "limited stock" but do have herters for 280..

Yep, I slipped into a "several HOURS long" window at AIM Surplus for some more Silver Bear 5.45x39... Yes, it was open for only a few HOURS, then closed with a SOLD OUT banner...

The 5.45x39 AK-74 ammo is easier to find in stock than AK-47 ammo, which is one of the reasons I went AK-74 route when I entered the AK realm last year... AK-47 ammo is almost impossible to find at a FAIR price, but easy to find at crazy prices.

Saved on shipping but had to pay sales tax. :(

I can hear the blue light special lady on the intercom.

currently 7.62x39 is running between $200 and $215 at every show in Kalifornia. Its CHEAP and yet when the next run on ammo happens and yes it WILL happen again. Guys will be crying about hoarders and profiteers.. Buy it NOW,, so you don't have to cry like a little brat later.. LOL just sayin.

You have too much fun with this RR. :)

Lowest I've bought x39 for in a while is $225 about a month ago before this whole mess at

Everytime I go to Aim's site you have to wade through all the listings, only to find out that yes indeed it is sold out.

Ammoman has a nice clean site and in 2.5 seconds I can tell if they have "my flava" and what the price is.

I'm not a big fan for the "points and rewards" type loyalty marketing game, but I've gotten more than a few built up there. I figure if/when prices get mega stupid and I need to train, I'll use the "points" then to "save" on some ammo and still be able to get out there. You know the whole where their is a will there is a way deal, versus just not training and whining about you can't train cause ammo actually costs money... ;)
