I'm one of those people that tends to "do some research on subjects"
before I act... you know just checking out whether threats are really legit..
no need to prep if you live in America ... right? if threats are real maybe I should start prepping.
you know, put up a little food, stuff like that>

anyhow, after seeing this little video... it has moved my research along...
maybe i'll order some mountain house or even put in a garden.
    or vote more often..
    maybe not be as sarcastic.

The problem has never been with "conspiracy guys" as yes SOME things are correct.

The real problem with most that talk too much about conspiracy crap is that they get too wrapped up in that and don't DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

Blah blah blah Alex Jones.... blah blah blah we are going to be put in death camps..... blah blah blah Elvis is alive and running the world from the gray's mother ship above the nazi's secret base in Antarctica..... blah blah blah

The same ones cry baby about spending $20. on food, but they will blather on and on about conspiracy stuff. Their non sense USUALLY has the tone of "there is nothing we can do, this is all so overwhelming" which is a DEFEATIST attitude. Was going to use the "P" word there but decided against it. 90% of the time they claim to be "awake" but their bodies are asleep, their mind is stuck in cry baby and hopeless mode, and the little decisions they make- OR DON'T MAKE- every day keeps them in that place.

I've known conspiracy types for almost 30 years, HUNDREDS OF THEM. I cannot think of ONE that was that heavy into conspiracy crap that actually got a lot DONE. Oh sure they will buy a weapon, but they'll complain that it costs too much to practice- so they never become proficient with it. Most lack social skills and willingness to get out and meet and group up with others (back to problem of making an EFFORT) so few ever become a part of a REAL group. Or they are kicked to the curb cause they blather on about conspiracies while DOING NOTHING (seeing a theme here?) and the real members go "yeah he's not serious, he just talks smack."

So this is why we tolerate a little bit of the conspiracy crap here, but we try to not let the crap run wild. 99% of the time it goes no where.

So just to be clear again cause we have covered this ground before, I don't have a problem with people posting conspiracy stuff, but if you've DONE NOTHING about it and all you do is cry baby about the problem while not working on SOLUTIONS, well then you really need to get your $hit together and get moving.

There IS time, the question remains, what are you going to DO with it?

Sit around and cry baby that everything is impossible, that it costs to much, that it's too much effort. OR

Will you find a way and stop the mental ma$turbation of self pity, excuses, and looking for a boogie man to explain why you are where you are in life.

If you truly believe time is short, then get your arse moving....

Conspiracy theories, wow...take them for what they are, do your research and move on.

There have been some conspiracy theories that have proven to be true...oh, "our gov isn't spying on American citizens" is a recent one that Snowden has shown to be true. But what are you going to do about it? Go off the grid? Be more aware? Stop using email? Stop visiting survival and preparedness websites and forums (you haven't done that yet)? No, like 1Admin says we need to be training more, storing more, networking more because we as an individual cannot stop the NSA from spying, but we as an individual, with others, can help ourselves to survive if something was to go sideways (hint Ukraine, Venezuela come to mind).

Like I use to teach my paramedic students, don't come up on a God awful scene (mass casuality incident) and get frozen looking at the whole thing. You will do nobody any good. Start doing something and keep moving. We as preppers or whatever you call yourself cannot be bogged down with all the stuff that comes out of the MSM. Yes, pay attention, then do something, get started in taking care of what needs to be done or if/when the SHTF or you will just be one being herded to the FEMA camps.

Like P said, ears to the ground but keep your head out of the sand.

I like conspiracies, I consider them the litmus test of the survivalist. For me they date back to Mark Kornke ranting on about electronic ignition systems in cars and color coded maintenance stickers on the back of road signs. They are a relief valve for the slugs who are not prepared to actually do anything but they can complain and FEEL like they are relevant. Time to suck it up boys!! You either are doing all you can to prepare or you are a poser. THere I said it!! Don't get me wrong, I am not saying go full tilt or you suck but play time is over. Get off the couch and get it started for GOd's sake.. If you don't then I swear Im gonna shoot you when your sorry butt comes strollin up to my gate.. JUST SAYIN!! :D I did a smiley face so all is good.

RR- no it wasn't in regard to what you posted.

It was another commentary on the "conspiracy guys" comment.

I wanted to make it clear AGAIN how we feel about that here, as some need to hear things multiple times before it sinks in. If your complaining about how hard everything is and DOING nothing in relation to solving the problem, your just wasting your efforts.

It's time to focus on SOLUTIONS not on how big the problem is, how we "can't" do anything about it, blah blah blah whine whine whine.

We are about SOLUTIONS here, not just rehashing the problems and getting into "it's all hopeless" mentality. Which is about as far as most "conspiracy guys" take it.

Isn't this what it is all about? Whine about ammo costs and availability? Learn to reload...Can you change your own car oil? Bake bread? Grow a garden? You can't get a .GOV EBT card for preps, so you have to get off of your arse and either make, build, or otherwise procure what it takes to prepare yourself and family for your particular threat.

Conspiracy nuts are all over the place, and are quite humorous in all of their theories. You can identify them by their mall ninja garb and 200 lb BOB. Just remember to feed them every so often, and keep their cage door closed. In the mean time, I'm going out to the garage and change my oil...

RR my comment was not directed at you so please don't think I was ranting at you.. But rather the average "prepper" these days. I understand being short time and cash, I do but I just can't handle the excuses any more. We all fail, I will be the first to admit my failures and I guess that's why im not very tolerant of the conspiracy guys because if they were 1/10th as interested in actually preparing as they are spreading conspiracy rumors then they would be well on their way. Perhaps it's because I have been around long enough to have heard them all so many times before. Kornke was doing the "patriot" tour back in the early 90's and I went to see him in the central valley of Kalifornia. He was all about black helicopters and FEMA death camps and .gov tracking citizens but provided NO direction as to being prepared. He was a fear monger and thats all these conspiracy theories do is instill fear. Some of them probably have more than a grain of truth to them but the hero running around screaming them to all who will listen is only about the drama and playing survivalist, not about helping you to actually PREPARE. Thats what S&P is about, Helping those who are truly interested in survival.
