President Theodore Roosevelt once said that the credit in life belongs to the man in the arena whose face is marred with sweat and dust and blood. It belongs to the man who strives valiantly, who knows great enthusiasms, great devotions, and spends himself daring greatly in a worthy cause so that he will know the triumph of high achievement; and whose place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

If you haven't read his book you should. It doesn't portray him as perfect or super human. It covers his shortcomings as a father and husband but it is also a glimpse into the man who took it to the enemy forcing them to pay a heavy price and reminds the reader that these guys are true patriots, that their love for our country and their brothers often is the strongest love they feel. I know for me it forced me to look inward and judge myself,,, not always did I fare well..
