EPA's Wood-Burning Stove Ban Has Chilling Consequences For Many Rural People

I was going to make some witty comment about, being able to shiver more since the air is cleaner...but it just stops being funny...

"sue and settle" lawsuits ?!?! Yea, this is a good use of our tax dollars. Wish a judge would see this for what is it and force them to go through the legislative process if people want to push their agenda. Not allow people to burn up tax dollars just to make the EPA do what they want.

Just another version of abuse of everyone's tax dollars...

So can people use the food stamp debit card to buy gas to drive to Wal-Mart to help stay warm in the winter months??? Or is that covered under section 8 housing? I lose track of all the "assistance" programs out there.

Guess this is what happens when entities are allowed to make as much money as you need to do any crazy thing you want. "Doesn't matter how much is costs, we can afford it."

All sec 8 housing has to by HUD standard have heat etc.

Here's an idea EPA .....tell all the other countries they can not burn wood....while it isn't common in some areas its a means people still use for heat. Off to by a Prius.....:p

I bought the first wood stove we owned in 1996 while on a trip up to Wisconsin to go to the renewable energy fair. It was on clearance at a Farm and Fleet for $99. It's one of the Vogelzang $200. small stoves. We warehouse it for years and installed it in the hunting camp in late 99. We have purchased three others stoves in the interim period including the Vermont BunBaker woodstove/oven/cook stove/hot water heater.

Suggest everyone north of Miami that considers that they may AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE, put back a woodstove now.

With what we do, we expect the availability of certain things to eventually go away and/or get restricted- Night vision, thermal, certain types of rifles and ammunition, body armor, etc. I don't think anyone saw restrictions on wood stoves coming.

Wonder what type of heating the Fema camps will use?
