As an IT guy for the last 20 years or so, I can say that I saw that video and thought of the movie "Enemy of the State" with Will Smith. I am an Information Security Analyst (for the last 4 years) trying to create a safe environment with which to compute for companies. Truth is, my job is very hard to do this day and age because of emerging technologies and crafty hackers. A tool that you can use to see what information is being looked at while you are surfing is called disconnect. It is becomes a part of your browser and on each page it will tell you who is asking for what information. It is very interesting that each page that you surf to is cataloging that info and then passing that information on. Have you ever bought some piece of gear on Amazon and then the next day on the right side of the screen in Facebook there is a list of items similar to what you purchased. For example, if you purchased a condor plate carrier the next day in Facebook would be an advertisement for tactical gear at some other retailer. That info is shared and documented and will never go away.

People are always talking about being "off the Grid", but this video should reinforce that you are not. And if you live a lifestyle that would be uninteresting to the NSA and their ilk, they can demonize you because of your religious beliefs, patriot "agenda", by planting stuff on your PC remotely and your screwed. There is nothing you can do about it so just live your life as usual. You cant encrypt anything that they cant get their hands on so dont bother worrying about it.

As an IT guy myself, I disagree with the above, but ~technically~. I add
the caveat because stealth logging is and will be the easiest form to
bypass encryption and passwords, but one would have to create enough
"interest" in yourself to warrant the manpower and resources. It won't just
happen because you buy a holster on Amazon or have Patriot friends in
Facebook. We should not flatter ourselves into thinking we are all that...
If you WERE "all that," you would be an internet hermit running a form of
custom Linux and a VPN or two...

If that is not you, encryption offers EXCELLENT privacy and security, if
even from random theft. For the more paranoid, boot up into a Linux or
WinPE desktop from a DVD for all your encryption work.

The securing of Amendment 4 is not all lost for those who care to keep it
that way... Until you DO become an "person of interest," then your screwed.

Back in the Gulf War II era, I always suspected the ex-Weapons Inspector,
Scott Ritter, was framed with ch1ld p0rn to discredit him and his claims of
NO WMD's... Turns out, he WAS right...
