  • Turning point in culture war?

I realize fads pass, but do you think this latest brew ha ha regarding Duck Dynasty and Phil is a turning point in the culture war? Phil and his family are loved by a lot of people, not just toothless rednecks as the media would lead people to believe.

More people waking up to see their favorite icons sacrificed may cause a turning point in the culture war? Maybe embolden more to speak out?

    What's your thoughts?

A situation like this is just strengthening the sides.

The Robertsons may be well well off, but they dont portray themselves as rich celebrities. They seem more like the common southern family. They are loved by a lot of people. The "support Phil" facebook page got over a million followers in the first day. A lot of southern Christians and "redneck" good ole folks can relate to them. If I assume I know Phil, he will not back down on his statements or beliefs. Never. Hopefully his "balls" in this liberal country can persuade more to step up and say they wont be PC any longer. God forbid I ever get famous or close to it, I would probably be assassinated.

I wish I had a family like this. Wouldnt care if they were dirt poor.

I read today where Cracker Barrel will not sell anything Duck Commander in their store anymore. Well, this cracker wont be going there and buying their overpriced wannabe country food anymore (didnt really go there anyways other than to play the golf tee triangle game)

It seems like there is a line drawn in the sand between people that believe and people that question. There is a 3rd group of people that are sideliners (cheerleaders, coaches and the bench) that are figuring out where they stand.
You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?

Cracker got belted on fakebook and backed down. May be a little late though.

I disagree. :) I don't think the media is "trying" to polarize us. We ARE polarized, and have been for a long time. Folks either just haven't been admitting it or are just now realizing it. The media just plays off of what is already there, for obvious reasons, which only serves to further the polarization as a byproduct.
